While it'll take a few more years for it to be 20 years old, there was once a 3D animated, direct-to-video Popeye movie that came out in 2004 made to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the spinach eating sailor. In the movie, Popeye and the gang set off to the Sea of Mystery to find his long lost father, Poopdeck Pappy.

When I read the thread title, I thought Genndy was finally going to release his Popeye film.

Wow. I had no clue this even existed. I'll never be able to associate Popeye with anything more than the Robin Williams movie. I watched that so many times as a kid.

i think i just vaguely remember seeing these inbetween cartoon network commercial breaks, and maybe for one of the spongebob season dvds? honestly it's been so long.
