A time for sledding, hot chocolate, and uh..."writing" your name in the snow.

We've already had snow several times over the past few weeks. None of them have been storms, but I already have a feeling we are going to have a really bad winter. We are due for one since the last two have been much better compared to what we normally get.

So far Winter hasn't really shown up here. Mostly just rainy and sloppy.

last year there were only two days of snowfall here in virginia, then it was gone again.

Last year was pretty good for the most part. We had a couple of small storms in December and January, but nothing too terrible. February was when things really got bad. We opened the month up with that huge blizzard that raged for over 48 hours. The rest of the month was filled with more and more big storms.

2019 was really the dream winter season. We opened up December with a big blizzard, but then for the rest of the season had nothing. Only two or three mornings were there was a little bit of snow on the ground, most of which melted by the afternoon. 

Today is the first day of winter and the shortest day of the year. Has it been short for you guys?

so far, no snow going on here, even on these cloudy days this past week. looks like there'll be a no-snow year at this point.

I had to run some errands today. The sun started to set literally at 1:30 this afternoon.

It has been pretty cold but no serious snow yet.

The Pacific Nortwest is about to be clobbered by the Arctic Express. Temperatures are expected to plunge below zero, even during the day. As long as the power grid holds up Seattle should be OK.

Winterfest 2021 in Seattle!

Christmas Day has been busy with the area preparing for the Deep Freeze heading our way. The problem is the low temperatures contine into next week and that may strain the local power grid. For now it appears the whole region will be facing cold temperaturs not seen around here since 1982.
