Yeah. I didn't make his fur as dark as I did with the other one.

I remember in school trying to draw cartoon characters. It was waay harder than I was expecting. The proportions have to be just so. Yeah, I gave up. But I had a much deeper appreciation for animated characters.

even though i draw cartoons, there's just something about drawing the familiar, copyrighted ones that have their own unique style in making them hard to draw, and that's why i mainly focus on drawing my own characters.

When I draw cartoon characters, I don't expect them to look exactly like the real thing. I just go with the flow and do the best I can.

You can say that again, Ben!

Not only are original characters fun to create, but just like your drawings, your characters have a kinda "life" to them that's difficult for someone else to master. There must be a "comfort factor" that allows you to draw your characters so well. Betcha you can spot your characters copied - from a mile away!
