Army of the Dead has arrived on Netflix in Zack Snyder's latest effort. What did you guys think- was it a full house or did it roll snake eyes?

I liked the first 15 minutes of the movie and the fact that they gave the zombies an origin. Not gonna lie, I was glued to the screen for the entire runtime and was trying to guess who would survive. Dieter, Bautista, and the zombie tiger were highlights.

After watching the movie, certain plotlines don't hold up. The Geeta and Zombie Head sidequests don't make much sense and seem to undermine the plot more than anything- (they could have taken the head and left).

Also, the original draft for the movie included zombie rape (seriously). Although it was removed, it still seems to happen off-screen with the zombies taking human prisoners and a pregnant zombie still in the final cut of the movie.

Lastly, what really got on my nerves was the fact that half the squad was wearing tank tops. They are supposed to be professionals and sure enough people got bit in the arm. lol

Yeah I was less than impressed. It all felt "done already" to me. I'm bored with the zombie movie genre I guess.

The theater release only listed Cinemark. but I can do Netflix now. There's a lot of online chatter about this movie's awesome intro. The first fifteen minutes is generating a lot of buzz.

I'm getting the feeling that this is a "gimme" to Zack Snyder and his zombie history. I agree with Vaporman that zombie fandom train has left the station - this all feels sooo 2008. It dosen't help that the fanbase seems to have grown away from Zack's favorite genre.

The February teaser was very cool:

Yeah there is a little bit of bait and switch. Most of the cool parts in the trailer are in the 15min intro out of a 2.5 hour movie. Also, the cool 360 degree Avengers style shot is actually a dream sequence for some reason.

Definitely not a well done movie in a lot of ways already covered. Having said that, it was a fun popcorn movie. I can't say I was ever bored, though I did hate some of the characters' choices. Interestingly, Tig was CGI'd into the entire movie! They had to replace the guy who was originally in it. You can kinda tell, though I did love her character.
