The game has turned 20 years old today, who remembers playing this foul mouthed, graphically violent cartoon game from Rare?

I played it quite a ways through but didn't beat it. My favorite part is when you battle the poo monster and he sings his song.

This is me and my friend Tony (yeah, *another* Tony!) after a pretty epic yard sale score. I'm the one on the right.

This was a sealed Conker's we found among tons of other amazing stuff. Since we found it together though, besides splitting everything between the two of us, we had to sell this and split the cash to be fair. If it were just me, I would have kept it.

Surprisingly though, I've never actually played the game. I wasn't really gaming around the time of the N64. I went through a long dry spell from the Sega Genesis until after college when I bought a PS3. I did get a little gaming in here and there on the PlayStation and an Xbox that roommates of mine owned.

If I ever finally upgrade to a raspberry pi 4 and build out a new rom-machine, I'll definitely give this game a play.

Woah! That is a nice score. If I had one gripe with CBFD, it was that the dialogue was atrocious. You couldn't understand a great deal of what Conker was saying. Too muffled and way too "British".

it's hard to say which version of conker is better, with the n64 originally you got so much uncensored swearing, but with controls that aren't too great, and the xbox version, having HD looking graphics and details, but there's more censoring, and the controls are a bit better.

"...but with controls that aren't too great..."

That's actually my issue with the vast majority of N64 and Gamecube games. They were the transition consoles, still figuring out three dimentional games. The reverse controls and insane perspectives on so many titles are incredibly hard for me to play. I really wanted to play Luigi's Mansion for instance, and I just can't get used to the controls.

I remember when I was in high school and into college, Goldeneye was HUGE. I tried playing a round one day and my brain somply could not make sense of the screen/controls. :-p

Goldeneye was a monster hit with me. Loved that game. My brother and two of our friends would get together at my apartment on weekends and play for hours!

i completely forgot to mention, a few of the staff members involved with the game (including the voice of conker himself, chris seavor) had a short lived youtube channel where they all got drunk and did an unfinished playthrough. from time to time they'll give some of their own history behind the game as they do their commentary.
