Isn't it funny how you can watch a "Made for TV" movie - and get so wrapped up in the story that you forget it's a "Made for TV" movie?

Well every decade has a craze or fad that gets captured on film but I have to tell ya - nothing I saw on television in the 1970's caused more of a sensation like the nationwide response to:

"The UFO Incident" - The Strange Case of Betty & Barney Hill - NBC - 1975

I always wondered if the overwhelming response to the airing of the TV movie had any influence on the updated timeline to the production of  Steven Spielburg's , "Close Encounter's of the Third Kind" in 1977.

I was just thinking about "Brian's Song", at the time it was groundbreaking. However, I was shocked by how America went "UFO Crazy" in the 1970's.

Remember, "Chariots of the Gods"?

UFO mania was so prevelant that as my friends and I walked to school everyday we were always looking in the sky so no flying saucers would sneak up on us!

"Brian's Song" kinda got swamped by all the Alien/UFO goings on - LOL!

That's Cool!

Author Peter Benchley scored again with the 2-part adaptation of his book into the TV movie, "The Beast".
