When I heard this in the movie "Paper Moon" I thought "Man, I gotta find this song."



I like nice, simple songs like these.

Another wonderful song from Broadway!



Must be from Irving Berlin's medeley of Broadway musicals from the 1930's. What makes this tune so enjoyable is that it can be played as a full instrumental or you can add the lyrics.



This musical style lends itself perfectly to cartoons. Thanks to animation from the 1930's a lot of old music might be lost on younger generations. It's only been in the last few years that I realized that many of the old "pre-code" Hollywood movies I saw on Sunday afternoons as a child are now lost and may never be seen again!



There was an old black & white film from the 1940's that had a wonderful scene with this song taking place in a diner with wait staff providing the background vocals but I don't know the namme of the movie.



Betcha there must be dozens of versions of this song, here's one version I've heard most:
