Because I'm a sucker for a lot of old school stuff nobody cares about, here's a thread dedicated to penny candy. What is penny candy? Penny Candy is all the old unsung sweets that were a common sight 40 to 70 years ago. Stuff like Abba Zaba (taffy with peanut butter in the center. Anf no it has nothing to do with the Pop band Abba as this product was out eons before than they were), Zagnut Bars, Necco Wafers (if you liked those... Hey, somebody out there had an acquired taste for them lol), U-No Bars, Chick O Sticks, Rocky Road Bars, etc. Now that you know what a penny candy is, what is your favourite one?

Mine are as follows:

U-No Bars

Twin Bing (those nutty chocolate ball halfs that have cherry nougat in the center) 

Chick-o-Sticks

But probably the king of hard penny candies. In the 1970's, this fantastic import from Italy known for its fizzy center made quite an impact on boomers and gen X-ers in the United States. I of course am talking about... ZotZ!

Chick-O-Sticks and Zagnut Bars are definitely good candy. Necco Wafers are the result of mixing the worst flavors of all time into one candy.

I don't think I have ever had any form of penny candy.
