So what was everyone's thoughts on the announced titles? I don't have much to say about the new online service, but I am excited for the handful of Final Fantasy titles that Square is bringing over. Who doesn't want to play those games on the go?

The direct was overall not very exciting, and the online service for the Switch is showing how much Nintendo is out of touch when it comes to online. Not only are they still trying to push that stupid ass online app for voice-chat, but it's been confirmed that certain games like Splatoon 2, Pokemon Let's GO Pikachu and Eevee, and certain third party games are not going to support cloud saves. Even worse, Nintendo is having it be an opt-in feature for third party developers, and not have it being a requirement for all their games.
However, I do like the NES games that's offered with the online service. As far as the NES controllers that's offered, I think I'm going to stick with 8BitDo as far as controller options goes. I'm still thinking about buying 8BitDo's kit of converting NES and SNES controllers into wireless Bluetooth controllers, that can be connected to the PC and Switch. Plus, I question if Nintendo's official NES controllers for the Switch would actually work with other games like Mega Man Legacy Collection. And the announcement of Final Fantasy games for the Switch seems to make Nintendo's fallout with Square come full circle now, as Final Fantasy VII was originally in development for the N64. But the game couldn't be released for the console due to the N64's limited cartridge space, which is why Square moved the series to Playstation, of which, they would continue developing games exclusively for Playstation platforms. |

aside from the final fantasy games i'm actually looking forward to the new animal crossing after the boring "amiibo festival" game we got on the wii u. i'm hoping luigi's mansion 3 will go back to the exploration of the entire mansion and not having mission based levels like dark moon had.

It was mixed for me. I either already knew what was coming or just wasn't my thing. The online service while good priced, doesn't deliver on what the fans truly want. We want dedicated servers for online multiplayer. Once you dig deeper into the details, you find a lot of problems. Oh those NES controllers that were good? Nintendo Online member exclusive.

the only thing i'm questioning at the moment is how the NES games will work. will we get to download them all at once or will we only get to choose a limited number, or just download one at a time to play? as for the nes controllers, i'll just wait for them to sell at a cheaper price, godforbid the bundle is close to the price of an nes classic.

Personally, I'd recommend this as a cheaper alternative to the official NES controllers Nintendo is charging.
I have an extra NES controller laying around, so I'm probably going to get this one. |

well the paid online service has started for anyone who downloaded the latest update. only a few nes titles they're offering are taking my interest, but hopefully nintendo will update the library before the end of the year. Nintendo Network ID: Benjamillion

I'm probably going to wait until the 8BitDo controller I ordered arrives before I check it out. However, I might just try the trail version. Not sure if I want to support the service yet with how much they have been dropping the ball on it. At least the 8BitDo NES controller I will be using will also support other games like Mega Man Legacy Collection and Shovel Knight. Something Nintendo's official NES controllers will not support.

to update it's been said that three titles will be added each month. sounds like a serious downgrade compared to the wii virtual console where we got like two the three gams in a week. but at least we're getting metroid next month, so that's something i guess.
