i just don't know how i feel about this with christine cavanaugh and jack riley gone. i'm sure they'll find replacements but in my opinion the voices are what made the characters, and without the originals it just doesn't have the same charm. i'm aware they did what they could with hey arnold: the jungle movie but those were actual kids voicing the main characters.

That's what concerns me. With some of the voice talents from the original Rugrats series not being alive anymore, how can they pull this off?

Cool! As long as it's not like Teen Titans Go or the new Powerpuff Girls.

I was a huge fan as a kid, I'm sure the nostalgia die hards will tear it apart, while I grew out of it, I'll give the reboot a fair shake.

As far as Christine Cavanaugh goes, she left in 2001. She was replaced by Nancy Cartwright as the voice of Chuckie. I'm sure that's what we would see with these new episodes. Jack Riley, I'm not so sure about. Or hell, even Joe Alasky as he also died fairly recently, which means they'd have to get a third voice actor for Grandpa Lou.
One thing that does give me hope for this is that Paul Germain is returning in this series alongside Arlene Klasky and Gabor Csupo. One of the reasons why Rugrats jumped the shark to begin with was because Paul Germain left the show to work on Disney's Recess. A lot of the charm Rugrats had went into Disney's Recess, while Rugrats had not been the same after that. The part where All Grown Up premiered was where they were really milking the cow dry, and was time to pull the plug on the show. As for the live-action film, I'm really not so sure how I feel about that. It might end up being good if it's more in line with Baby Geniuses, which was basically the Rugrats live-action movie of the 90s. But still, thinking about an actual live-action Rugrats movie just doesn't bode well with me. |

I really don't know how to feel about this. Rugrats was one of my favorite shows growing up, but I don't know if we really need a revival for the series. Maybe just do what they did with Hey Arnold! and Rocko's Modern Life by having a final television movie to end the series on.
More importantly, I wonder why suddenly after all this years of people complaining that the "new Nickelodeon sucks" that they are finally bringing back the old shows. I wonder if Nickelodeon isn't pulling in good numbers and this is their attempt at bringing them back. *Insert funny signature here*

rocko is the only series i'm excited about, joe murray has been known to sneak in some adult jokes while some of them were removed from certain episodes, so maybe he'll be able to have more freedom in doing that for the upcoming movie.

"I wonder if Nickelodeon isn't pulling in good numbers and this is their attempt at bringing them back." It's possible. During the past several years, they've done shows that a lot of people wouldn't agree with. "If you think a 401K is your mother-in-law's bra size, you might be a redneck."
