I realize that Tri-Star is still in existence now being owned by Sony Pictures however it is evolved considerably since the 80s. The previous Orion Pictures and Carolco Pictures threads were about studios that had gone the way of the dodo. But nothing says 80s and 90s cinema to me like the image of a winged Pegasus flying onto the big screen.
I remember however a pre-Pegasus logo on a film called Private Eyes that was distributed by Columbia who many may remember partnered with TriStar with the Pegasus logo being joined by or followed by the Columbia lady a personification of the United States. Columbia is also now owned by Sony. Many will also remember both logos when popping in that VHS tape if a movie was distributed by Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment.
My favorites from the TriStar Pictures were:
Private Eyes
The Last Dragon
The Monster Squad
The Running Man
Bat*21
Blind Fury
Total Recall again with Carolco
Air America again with Carolco
Toy Soldiers
Terminator 2 again with Carolco
Hook with with Amblin Entertainment
So I Married an Axe Murderer
Rudy
Philadelphia
Legends of the Fall
Seven Years in Tibet
Santa

I can't think of Tri-Star and not immediately refer to the disastrous 1998 Godzilla film. That is the first thing that comes to my head with regard to Tri-Star. But aside from that, they have been involved in a number of awesome films.
You love this signature.
