With Lotus releasing a new Esprit model this year, I am reminded of my fascination with the car in the 80's and 90's. There were very few cars in the 80's that tickled my fancy... but here are a few:

The Lincoln Town Car (any year 1981-1988), aka every fancy car in movies of the time, and best old man car in the hood today, fascinated me from age 13 on. I had one 1998-2005.


Like driving a couch. Just glide along the highway. Doing 80 feels like a relaxed 50.

Ah yes. The old "boat" vehicles of the 70's and 80's. And you got maybe 9 miles to the gallon. But IT DIDN'T MATTER!

Is that the beast from Tango and Cash? I had a memory of the truck for years and didn't realize it was from that movie till I saw it a few years back.

I had a pretty strong interest in cars growing up. I did 2 articles on them over at RJ. Among my favorites were the Ford GT 90 concept car and the 1988 BMW M3.

Yeah. That GT90 concept was awesome. I got to see one once at a Detroit auto show. Sweet.
