I may be getting a bit ahead of myself with this, being that the site hasn't even "officially" launched yet...

...but I'm wondering if there might be suggestions on what article topics you would like to see garner bonus points.

I was thinking, with the Christmas season in overdrive, that the holidays could be a good one. Thoughts?

it would help to include an "article writing" section, but to include it with that title alone. on retrojunk there's been a few occasions when new people would get the "writer's forum" confused for the chit chat forum.

Holidays are always a good topic. They inherently have a lot of memories for many people.

Is this for articles on a particular subject to automatically get extra points? I'm sure we can expect to see articles about cartoons, video games, and toys. But I'm not sure what kind of criteria there should be for this question.

shakin steak: Firstly, yes. The intent is for there to be automatic "extra" or "bonus" points distributed for approved articles that are on a particular subject (input for this coming from you guys).

Secondly, perhaps others might have some clue as to what (if any) criteria should be restricted or allowed?

i was also wondering if there's a visible section showing what articles that you have written that are currently drafts? i recently wrote a couple of paragraphs of one last night and had it saved

They will show up on your profile page. They were supposed to be working on a means to delete your saved drafts also.

I had been thinking of similar things, but hadn't pinpointed anything specific yet.

Sponsored articles, could be a way for the site to make some money. Vaporman, say you get a store or a company that wants to sponsor an article by giving you money. You post a thread calling for submissions.

Maybe the sponsor picks their favorite entry. And that writer gets a prize or extra points. Or, maybe there's a special week "Kmart Week" "Comic Book Week" and all the articles submitted go up during that period.

Maybe the first one can be furniture-themed. "This article sponsored by Rutland Furniture" People might write articles about their parents' antique dining set, or the bunk bed they had growing up, or the day the writer's childhood kitchen was renovated with an island and a built-in microwave. Whatever people come up with; assignments are good kickstarters.

I do have a contest coming up that is a focused writing contest that I think is pretty cool and exciting. I should have the details up tomorrow.
