Steven Vincent Strange. Doctor Strange. Sorcerer Supreme. These are the titles of the man that Eternity itself claimed to be "more powerful by far than any of [his] fellow humanoids". What Tony Stark is to technology, Steven Strange is to magic. It is this similarity that probably draws me to the character. I would say he is likely my favorite character in the Marvel universe only behind Iron Man and Ghost Rider.
In the comics, Strange was a neurosurgeon with a bit of an ego. Then he suffers a car accident which damages his nerves and prevents him from being able to continue his career. From there, he searches the world over and spends his entire fortune trying to find a cure. Then he finds The Ancient One and is trained to become Sorcerer Supreme - earth's guardian. With his servant Wong by his side, and a plethora of mystical artifacts at his disposal, Doctor Strange battles the likes of Baron Mordo, Dormammu, Nightmare, and many other hyper-powered baddies. Dormammu himself would give Thanos a run for his money.
He's been in different media... cartoons, film, television, books, and video games:
And this year, Dr. Strange will finally make his way to the big screen. And with this new trailer, it's looking very, very interesting.

Second to Spider-Man, Dr. Strange is one of my favorites as well!
He is the MOST fun to play as in the Marvel: Ultimate Alliance game because instead of engaging in fisticuffs with various baddies, you can use telekinesis to throw them off ledges, automatically killing them lol |

Maybe we will see Dr. Strange and Ghostrider team up! They have many villains in common i.e. Mephisto and Blackheart

Movie looks great! And I'm not just saying that because my very attractive distant cousin is in the lead role, lol. It honestly looks amazing, and I'm not into these kinda movies.

Not only do I like what I'm seeing from that first trailer, (plus fan reaction), but I'm even enjoying all the blowback caused by the casting of Tilda Swinton as The Ancient One.
This is a perfect flap for a movie about Doctor Strange. Now Everyone is paying attention and the film will get an extra polish before it's November 4th release. |
