I love Howard the Duck. I don't understand exactly why it is so universally
and repeatedly panned.
I loved this movie when I watched on TV in the 80s, I love it now, and
I will always love it. It's no worse than any other 80s sci-fi
Saturday afternoon TV flick. OK, maybe it is a little bit worse. Maybe
Back to the Future, Short Circuit, and Batteries Not Included are all
truly great films, while HtD is mere schlock. But I don't believe the
distinction is that big.

What critically reviled movies or shows do you like?

Why's forum put all these extra carriage returns in my post. No matter how I edit it I can't make them go away

Oddly, the OP shows up in the comments list but does not show the thread name and can't be viewed by clicking on the magnafying glass.

Let me see if I can fix that.

I deleted that thread. The OP of this thread does not appear in the list. I tried copying the OP, putting it as the first reply and then deleting the OP, to work around the "bump required" thing. But it just deleted the entire thread. Yet the condensed list still keeps the reference.

Additionally, if I want to put a link in an OP by manually writing out a href etc, it won't let me. It won't render at all and just leaves the code plain. I'm not sure how to make the forum do it.

But I can do it in a reply, as here.

That's odd. Another strange glitch is that when I have had to occasionally go in and edit someone else's original thread post, it suddenly sends that thread WAYYY down the list of other threads, even though the thread ID is the same as it always was. Sloppy!

Anyways, back on topic.

I somewhat agree with you on Howard The Duck, as I never really found it to be that terrible of a film.

I would also suggest that The Postman was not as bad as it was made out to be. I really enjoyed that movie, and was satisfied with it's outcome.

Street Fighter. I know the movie was pretty bad, but I enjoyed it, maybe because I was a big Van Damme fan as a kid, who knows. Most Van Damme films would fit this thread for me actually.

Rocky 5 seems to get an awful lot of hate from people. I thought it was really good when I saw it in theaters. I still like the "Go For It!" song off the soundtrack too.

Howard The Duck was a good movie, but yeah Howard's suit was not very realistic.

Not quite as well done as the Turtles in the TMNT movie.

Sometimes the facial expressions in TMNT seemed to come across nicely, but other times they were really awkward. But for the times, they were good.
