I'm sorry. It's just so cringeworthy. The one bright spot is the voices. Much better than what Nintendo is doing with them today.





I'm picking Doug as a representative here, but you could substitute any Nickelodeon 90s cartoon except Ren & Stimpy. We didn't have cable at my house, and I was just old enough to think Doug, Rugrats, etc weren't cool.

Mega Babies.

C'mon shakin, what was it that made you so averse to Mario Bros? Was it the awful and inconsistent animation? The repetitive storylines? Or the terrible jokes and gags? What's not to love there?

I put in one vote for Starcom. Sure, the animation was good. But I just could not get into the show... it was just.. so... boring.

Archie's Mysteries fits in there too.

As for Super Mario Bros Super Show... the thing is, I liked it when I was a kid. Of course I did. Kids are stupid. They don't know anything. Repetitive stories and inconsistent animation aren't problems. I can watch Jay Ward productions all day. But the jokes, yes. And the singing.

I've also never heard of Mega Babies. That looks terrible too. I didn't even watch it, I just read about it on wikipedia.

It wasn't awful or anything. Just not something that interested me at all. And now they've revamped it for NetFlix:

Thankfully this came after my time, but I have in recent years been subjected to it in reruns because my kid loves it. 

i always thought of this show as like some kind of second banana to 'bump in the night', only less memorable.
