It took me about ten minutes to finally find the right books online. They were made by a company called Crestwood, and apparently these were found in a lot of elementary school libraries in the mid-late 80's and early 90's. Anyone else enjoy these amazing books while growing up?

The other day, I was talking about my old elementary school library when I remembered a series of books I loved to check out. The books were about magazine sized, had orange font on them, and were all about the old movie monsters. Inside were some amazing photos from the various films as well as an impressive amount of information given that the target audience was elementary school kids. I wanted to read them because I felt like I was getting away with seeing something I wouldn't be allowed to watch on TV. Quote Disable Sigs |

Absolutely! My elementary school had several of those books. They were about the only books I would actually spend time checking out in the library! Man, I had all but forgotten about those until just now. I loved those books.
EDIT: One of these would make an awfully nice addition this year's Halloween Goodie Pack, don't you think?. You love this signature.

These were huge childhood reads for me as well. When we got our 15 minutes of library time a week, it was always between one of these beauties, a Shel Silverstein book of poetry or a history of Walt Disney animation. The monsters usually won out though. Murders At the Rue Morgue was the only dud in my opinion, there was really no monster to look foward to just a bunch of French guys investigating stuff.

Oh man, those are glorious! I actually don't remember these at all (probably never knew they existed), and it makes me sad, because these would have been so perfect for me. IN the Halloween Goodie Pack, you say? Yes, please! :-p
