So as some of you might now, Chris Farley was originally intended to be the voice of Shrek before his death in 1997. Farley recorded most of his dialogue before he died, which had to be tossed following his death.

However, audio from his work on the film finally came out today, showcasing to us what his version of Shrek was like.

I love Chris Farley, but his performance seems to be Chris Farley playing himself as Shrek. Mike Myers actually breathed life into the character and made it a whole separate entity from himself. I'm not really a Shrek fan, but when comparing the two I'd go with Mike Myers' version.

Awesome find. It was very interesting to hear.

Yeah, as much as I love Chris Farley, I just can't picture Shrek with his voice. Meyers nailed it perfectly.

Mr Magic
I adore the works of Chris Farley, but Mike Myers was the right call for Shrek,

after all the memes that surround shrek in both facebook and tumblr, i think it's best that his role was taken over.
