What are your thoughts on Tomb Raider making a comeback?

I saw few trailers for it and it seems much darker and Lara herself is much less "cartoony" and more realistic. It's less about BnB and more about adventure. At least, that's what I took away from the trailers.

I think an origin story is totally unnecessary. I'm all for a new game but leave the drama and cutscenes and character development in my head, or in the manual/title screen if some authorial background is truly needed.

It felt too much like they were going for cinematic experience, so I think you're going to have a game chock full of cutscenes and drama.

Some games manage to do it ALL right (Mass Effect for instance).

I'm not sure how well it will work for a Lara Croft game considering that you're limited to a far less expansive universe than a game like ME. Time will tell.
