Kinda sad to realize that by the time I was born in 1957 the MGM Animation Studio had already shut their doors, and a lot of talented people were “available”.
But William Hanna and Joe Barbera were good businessmen and ushered all their resources and connections within the industry to setup their own operation in that new startup medium called television. ![]() Their first TV production was an instant hit - “Ruff and Reddy” took-off with sponsors and provided the financial fuel to fund other TV shows. The HB Universe was a GO!

It's great that we have MeTV Toons where we can celebrate the genius of Hanna-Barbera. My drawing of Jago (Killer Instinct character) as a Funko Pop.

All my old favorites are in good hands. I'm no longer worried if cartoons would survive in this new media landscape. New generations of fans are already here! |
