| 44086 | Halloween Nostalgia & More! |
@Ben:

It's strange how Hamton's family never knew what was going on while Plucky was being attacked. It's a cartoon thing, I guess.

Can you believe Hamton actually gave the hitchhiker Plucky's address?
| Mr Magic | Oct 12, 2019 | ![]() |
| 44085 | Halloween Nostalgia & More! |

And that's why October is so awesome to me - from Tiny Toon Adentures to the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, I see Halloween in everything I like.

Try a bit of "Chaotic" from twelve years ago:

| eddstarr | Oct 12, 2019 | ![]() |

| 44083 | The Café |
Rick - That's sounds like a great event to be present at. At least the parents of those children seem to be exposing them to the great things they enjoyed in their own childhoods.
| Vaporman87 | Oct 12, 2019 | ![]() |

| 44081 | The Café |
Boy do I feel old today. I attended a time capsule opening at a Middle School. It was placed there in 1994 by another Middle School class. The time capsule itself didn't really hold any nostalgic items. Or at least nostalgic to me. It was mostly filled with class assignments and artwork made by the class who buried it.

Instead, what really got me nostalgic was this presentation they did before opening the capsule. They decided to put together a video montage of news events, television show openings, music, commercials, the styles and just all other things from the year that this capsule was planted. Because this opening was being done in front of an assembly of current middle schoolers, they put together this montage to show them what the world was like back then.

Really hit home just how far we are from the childhoods we talk about on here.

I will say that I left with a little bit more hope for the new generation. Despite this presentation being done to show these kids how different the world was back then, these kids all knew everything about what was being presented to them. They knew the theme songs and sang along with them, they cheered when certain things were shown and they recognized things that you would think kids these ages would now nothing about.

Nice to know we aren't that old yet.
| Rick Ace Rhodes | Oct 12, 2019 | ![]() |

| 44077 | 'tis the season! |

Ever since "E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial", I can't help but associate aliens with Halloween. Anyway, ET had the best costume, and in his honor I would like to post an old favorite of mine from my college years at ASU.

In 1977 it was announced that Jack Webb Productions would be airing a new TV series about the Air Force's "Project Blue Book". This announcement was greeted with laughter!

Jack Webb was the creator of the police series, "Dragnet", and later "Adam-12". His deadpan, "just the facts ma'am" style of storytelling made the thought of him producing a show about UFO's seem like a bad joke. Jack told the laughing reporters himself, "just wait till you see the finished product".

And Jack Webb was right, "Project U.F.O." - 1978/1979 became one of the most talked about TV shows on campus. For fans of plastic scale models this TV show was a model builders dream come true. The series became famous for its variety of UFO's beyond saucer shapes.

This episode features my two favorite UFO's - the "Ferris Wheel" ship and the "Boomerang" spaceship!

| eddstarr | Oct 10, 2019 | ![]() |
