| 2231 | Retro Disney movie collection | We have quite a few. The kids are very big fans of Disney movies. We have several of the "Princess" films (Cinderalla, Snow White, etc) and several of the Pixar/Disney films. Also a few of the older films. My personal favorites include The Sword in the Stone, Bedknobs and Broomsticks, and more. | Vaporman87 | May 21, 2013 | ![]() |

| 2229 | Heavy Metal (1981) | I first encountered this movie in 1989. I was 10 years old. It was probably on TBS; I'm not sure because I didn't have cable. But I was at a sleepover at my best friend's house, where I got to experience the magic of cable occasionally. Everybody else was asleep, and I was flipping channels at 3 AM. I came in right at the beginning of the "Taarna" segment, with the evil mutant army sinking into the mire and the general rising. ?! I watched all the way til the end and I was freakin' ENTHRALLED. For the next 5+ years, I recalled seeing that short, but I had no idea what it was. I never had any idea who Harry Canyon was, for sure. Some time after I got into high school and started going to the mall by myself, I saw a Heavy Metal tape for sale in Sam Goody. I don't think I knew what it was at the time, but like the Pinface post, I was always a fan of animation. And this. looked. AWESOME. So I bought the tape. Some short time after that, I watched it. Throughout the movie, I had no idea that towards the end, I would be finally reunited with the Taarna segment, which, to this day remains to me a masterpiece of fantasy storytelling with a plot driven by events and visuals and very little dialogue. | shakin steak | May 21, 2013 | ![]() |
| 2228 | Favorite comic book based movies anyone? |
thecrow174 wrote :
He'll never change.
I know :\
HarryCanyon wrote :Any of these your faves and did you know Oldboy is based on a comic as is History of Violence and Road to Perdition?
Never heard of Oldboy. Never saw History of Violence though I want to. Didn't know it was a comic. I heard of Road to Perdition but I know nothing about it. Believe it or not some people haven't seen and bought copies of every movie ever made. I'm curious the size of your collection. I like quite a few of the movies you listed. But half of them, I haven't even seen. Pamela Anderson is definitely sexy, although much plastic. I stand by saying Barb Wire is a dreadful movie and it literally put me to sleep. | shakin steak | May 21, 2013 | ![]() |

| 2226 | Cheers | The strange thing is that I didn't really like Cheers. I've only seen about 5 episodes. I am a big fan of the spinoff of Frasier. | pikachulover | May 21, 2013 | ![]() |

| 2223 | Dick Tracy (1990) | I prefer Sin City since it's adult themed and all that. I love me some violence. | HarryCanyon | May 20, 2013 | ![]() |
| 2222 | Favorite comic book based movies anyone? | Ooh Barb Wire is a guilty pleasure of mine since i was 14 as Pam Anderson has epic knockers no doubt and she was one of those chicks that helped ushered me to manhood. Any of these your faves and did you know Oldboy is based on a comic as is History of Violence and Road to Perdition? | HarryCanyon | May 20, 2013 | ![]() |
