I know they are in the trendy parts of LA. And other cities like that. I don't like how everything is getting "healthed up" It tastes awful! | pikachulover | Sep 30, 2013 | ![]() |

| 3835 | Halloween Nostalgia & More! |
Long, loooong ago, when I was no older than my kids are now, I received a little grey stuffed cat from someone (likely my parents, though I can't be certain). My sister also received one that was identical (though the differences in their facial features are easy to distinguish).

Little did I know just how important this little cat would become in my life.

At some point, my sister and I ended up falling asleep together in my bed. I think she was afraid to sleep in her own most of the time.

We would have a difficult time falling asleep some nights, so we would gather up some of our stuffed animals, pull the sheets up over our upright, bended knees, and perform "The Meowwy Wowwy Show".

This would entail the host, Meowwy Wowwy (my little grey cat) and his brother Smarts (my sister's grey cat) introducing a variety of guests performing different acts to entertain the rest of the animals.

Fast forward nearly 35 years...

Meowwy is still hosting the Meowwy Wowwy show, though the proceedings are a bit more extravagant now that it's my own kids playing along with me, and I have money to spend on the whole shabang...

Meet Meowwy Wowwy (manufactured in 1981, and still holding up well even in the hands of 3 to 7 year olds...

Today, Meowwy is decked out in his vampire cape as the gang is in the Halloween spirit (every holiday, the gang's house and stage are festooned with that holiday's décor)

His co-host on stage is no longer Smarts (my sister still has him though). Now it is Feeba (who you might recognize as someone else from The Lion King). Yes, Meowwy now has his own stage (he's no longer stuck with my lap and some bended knees).

This is the Meowwy Wowwy gang's house. This is where most of the smaller audience members hang out. It too is decorated for the holiday.

These little trouble makers are the "Super Babies". They like to make fun of the proceedings and stir up the hornets nest. Mostly by making poopy diaper jokes. Behind them is Grumpy Dog. He gets his kicks by yelling out how terrible the show is, and what an awful host Meowwy is.

In the kitchen, Alvin and the Chipmunks hang out while Theodore concocts his treat for the evening's guests. It's always something different, and usually pretty good.

The rest of the gang that can't fit in the house, sit on the Dora couch and costume box. Front row seating.

Here we see Skele-T-Bob, Penguin Halfheart (who is even older than Meowwy), One Eyed Bear, and the Ear Wax Monkeys (who enjoy throwing ear wax at everyone. Don't ask).

Other audience members. The 3 Elves used to only show up to the show during Christmas, but the kids missed them when they were gone, so now they just hang out all the time. Though, they do disappear for a couple weeks right before the "Big Day". Gotta help out Santa, right?

Well, that's what Meowwy is up to lately. Still hosting after all these years. Hopefully my kids' kids will be enjoying Meowwy's show in the future. :)
| Vaporman87 | Sep 30, 2013 | ![]() |
| 3834 | Things you don't like about this era. | All the use of "high fructose corn syrup" to sweeten drinks, instead of good, old fashioned sugar. We have a local eatery (which, believe it or not, is a very health conscious sort of place... serving pizza with home grown vegetables in a brick oven and such - in a village of 400 people, that's kind of unusual) that I stopped into a few days ago to pick up pizza, and was given a Mexican Coke on the house while I waited. It was much tastier than American Coke, with far fewer ingredients, and cane sugar, instead of HFCS. Thankfully, soda bottlers are catching on and there is a variety of your favorite sodas that you can get here and there with only sugar. | Vaporman87 | Sep 29, 2013 | ![]() |
| 3833 | Things you don't like about this era. | Another thing that bothers me about this era is how there are pageants where toddler girls dress like hookers. If you've heard of Toddlers & Tiaras, you know what I mean. Parents, I encourage you not to let your little ones be a part of this fiasco. | Mr Magic | Sep 29, 2013 | ![]() |
| 3832 | Things you don't like about this era. | Our extreme dependence on mobile devices for one. I am more than happy that in this day and age, we have the internet. But I really just think our connection to the internet should end at the door of our house. Also, the originality of films is at an all time low. Games have taken over where movies are failing. Games like Elder Scrolls and the Mass Effect series explore amazing new worlds and create truly fascinating stories, something that used to belong solely to the movie industry (in a visual and auditory sense) Our knowledge of politics and of political ideology are also at all time lows. There are so many low information voters out there that create this built in block of guaranteed votes for people who don't have the experience or qualities of a good candidate for office (and yes, I'm including the current resident of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. in that group). I could go on and on... and probably will as the thoughts come to me. :) | Vaporman87 | Sep 29, 2013 | ![]() |
| 3831 | Fantasia | When you watch the first segment of Fantasia, which is when Toccata and Fugue is being played, your mind feels like it's elsewhere. | Mr Magic | Sep 29, 2013 | ![]() |
| 3830 | Halloween Nostalgia & More! | At last... Frute Brute & Fruity Yummy Mummy are mine! Pretty good flavor for both, though I prefer Frute Brute's Cherry flavor to the Orange Creme flavor of FYM. :D | Vaporman87 | Sep 29, 2013 | ![]() |
