| 6680 | Legos | Sure, LEGOs have saturated the toy market with every license under the sun, but you can still get "just plain old LEGOs" at just about any toy store. The market is there, or they wouldn't make them.

We no longer live in a world that fosters creativity. But it's still there if you know how to bring it out.
| Vaporman87 | Feb 12, 2014 | ![]() |

But nowadays, it seems that a lot more toys already have messages built into them before a child even opens the pink or blue package. In 1981, LEGOs were simple and gender-neutral, and the creativity of the child produced the message. In 2014, it’s the reverse: the toy delivers a message to the child, and this message is weirdly about gender.”

| shakin steak | Feb 12, 2014 | ![]() |

| 6677 | Winter 2013/2014 | Wow. Some really interesting places in that article vkimo. I would love to visit an abandoned theme park. It just seems so eerie and mystical in these images.

The funny thing about abandoned places is that, they aren't always "old". I have mentioned here before that my family visited a giant mall right in the middle of Orlando that couldn't have been there more than 10 years, and while still open, was almost completely vacant. The only exceptions were a food establishment and the movie theater. It was really weird to walk in empty halls of boarded up storefronts in a place as happening as Orlando.
| Vaporman87 | Feb 12, 2014 | ![]() |

I'd love to go camping there and exploring it at night. It appears a a lot of Olympic venues get the same treatment after an event passes. They build these huge structures for events and when the Olympics are done, there's absolutely no need for them any more.

I did a whole article on abandoned places, it's a really poignant subject for a lot of people.
| vkimo | Feb 12, 2014 | ![]() |
