46856The Café

The Legend of Zelda is the first video game I ever played, Super Mario Bros is a close second. My Dad bought an NES and I have.a distinct memory of him playing it. What's fascinating about Zelda is how so many tips and secret locations have been passed down via word of mouth- the arcane knowledge of Hyrule Kingdom lol

@Onipar- As a kid, I could never get past Level 8. It is a big level with a lot of those pesky knights and it's hard to figure out which rooms your are supposed to clear. About two years ago, I finally beat the game for the first time with the help of a buddy who had an internet guide on his phone lol
echidna64Feb 22, 2021View
46855The Café
Honestly, not many memories. I remember the first game on the NES being far outside my ability as a gamer. I had a mild fascination with the warp whistle, but I don't think I ever got very far in it. I don't remember playing any of the sequels as a kid.

In more recent years I've revisited the original (still have never played all the way through). In fact, I was only able to get as far as I did by using an online guide to know where to go and what to do.

I have to give HUGE props to anyone that was figuring that game out all on their own as a young kid.
oniparFeb 21, 2021View

46851What did you eat?
Can't beat a good pizza! I do "pizza night" every friday. I like to make my own these lately. Here are some friday pizzas I've made:

Yesterday I baked some Biscotti (anisette toast) and then made some raisin and nut clusters with the leftover chocolate.

I got up super early this morning so I could bake some fresh bagels for sunday. They came out pretty good, thought there are some tweaks I want to make still.

oniparFeb 21, 2021View

46847Dreamscape (1984)
It's funny, I popped the movie on last night and realized I had watched it much more recently than I thought. Like probably within the last couple years. Great flick.
oniparFeb 20, 2021View
