There are some successful interventions that have come from concerned people reporting suicidal behavior online where the person was found by ip or other means and a welfare check was done in person by the authorities or even family or friends.

NLoganDec 11, 2014View
14502Personal Help and SupportCriminal law is based upon trial of a suspected breaker of the law for the purpose of retribution to the victim or society, punishment of the guilty, hopefully corrections and rehabilitation of the guilty, under the broad category of justice. Since a person guilty of suicide has technically commited homicide by killing a human being, however since they cannot be tried or held accountable in any way their are no enforceablelaws against suicide. However an attempt at suicide may relinquish a person's civil rights and they can be detained civilly until they are determined not to be a threat to themselves ir others or have received treatment. The are held by civil ordinances and not by criminal law or charges against them. NLoganDec 11, 2014View

People who attempt suicide are not tried for an attempted crime. Very few states allow death with dignity or assisted suicide. 14497Personal Help and SupportYeah, I don't like the idea of talking about suicide on here.
Mr MagicDec 11, 2014View
14496Personal Help and SupportI know you're intentions are good, but I don't think this is a wise idea. If someone was to admit here that they were even remotely thinking about committing suicide, and you don't report it to the authorities, this site could become liable. Coming here to talk about your problems is one thing, but I would not allow discussion about suicide. It's a crazy world, and people nowadays like to sue everyone and everything they can.

Just my two cents.
FuzzDec 11, 2014View
