47577Father's Day 2021
Happy Father's Day!

After I finished the post on the 1976 Lipstick and White Luxury Group Lincoln, it occured to me that maybe you guys would like to see a real Old School Dadmobile in the form of the first Continental - the MARK I.

The very first Lincoln Continental was 1940. Powered by a flathead V12 engine and available as a hardtop coupe or convertible. The first Continental has only worn the "MARK I" name posthumously - itwas never called that during its production run from 1940 to 1948.

Here is a cool video on a 1948 Continental Coupe, black paint with red leather interior. This is really awesome to see an original Continental in motion. As the car travels the parking lot notice the huge size of this two-door classic. You gotta admit, for a car over 70 years old, the Lincoln Continental is a very handsome automobile!

eddstarrJun 20, 2021View

47573New Years Resolutions 2021
Ahh. That's disheartening news. Seems like the lot of us are dealing with paternal issues. I wish you guys the best as you handle everything.

onipar wrote :
I'm so sorry to hear about both of your fathers. With Father's Day coming up, I wish there was better news for all of us on that front. My own dad is also going through medical stuff (kidney disease casued by multiple myeloma) and is currently undergoing chemo. We're remaining hopeful though.
 -end quote

Rick Ace Rhodes wrote :
Sorry to hear that Vaporman. The way the Luxury Groups work is mix & match. Start with paint, white or red. Then pick a vinyl roof color, white or red. Finally choose white or red for the bodyside moulding that runs bumper to bumper. The paint stripe is always in contrast color to the main body paint color chosen.

The interior color is only white leather with red accents, no cloth uphostery option.

Only a few MARK IV's were painted Lipstick red because the color is so tough on the eyes, especially in bright sunlight. Reminds me of Laser red, almost makes your eyes bleed to look at it!

Happy Father's Day - wear your shades around this Lincoln to protect your vision, LOL!

eddstarrJun 19, 2021View
