| 16949 | Fresh off the Boat | So I'm caught up now on the show, and I agree with Derk... the main kid is really unlikeable. Unlike Adam Goldberg, this kid is like that annoying guy in school who always thought he was way cooler than he actually was. He's really uncomfortable in his own skin, but does everything he can to pretend he isn't. You find yourself rooting AGAINST the "star" of the show... and that is a really bad thing. I think it's safe to say he is kind of like a Barry Goldberg type of character, but not at all funny. It was so cringe-inducing and it was obvious knew nothing about that genre. That was painfully obvious when they pretended as if Live was a huge grunge band.
