37579What song are you listening to?Yeah, Ronnie Milsap is a real favorite of mine too.<div style="font-style: normal; font-weight: normal;"><br></div><div style="font-style: normal; font-weight: normal;">Meanwhile I thought you guys would like to hear a song that I wanted to nominate for "The Great American Songbook" - but wiser heads talked me out of it, lol!</div><div style="font-style: normal; font-weight: normal;"><br></div><div style="font-style: normal;">Still, <b>Gary Puckett &amp; The Union Gap</b> made quite an impression as the 60's drew to a close. These guys caused a national riot when they posed for a Civil War re-enactment picture as part of an album photoshoot. Every magazine and news broadcast carried clips and I was very impressed at the quality of the detail.</div><div style="font-style: normal;"><br></div><div style="font-style: normal;">But the boys were just having fun. It was also a reminder that in 1968 the Civil War wasn't really all that long in the past!</div><div style="font-style: normal;"><br></div><div style="font-style: normal;"><br></div><div style="">Rebel or Yankee - <i>these guys sure can sing!!!</i></div><div style=""><i><br></i></div> <div style="position:relative;height:0;padding-bottom:75.0%"><iframe src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/7EAjhGm0B24?ecver=2" width="480" height="360" frameborder="0" style="position:absolute;width:100%;height:100%;left:0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe></div>eddstarrSep 19, 2017View

37577The End of Toy Storeswhat's even more sad is that some funko pop figurines were exclusive there, such as a recent crash bandicoot themed one with crash bandicoot: warped crash on a motorcycle.BenjanimeSep 19, 2017View
37576OldiesWell here's a bit of history for you.<div><br></div><div>Track 1 - Track 2 . . . how many tracks have you heard?</div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div>This is the mess surrounding Neil Diamond's first hit song, "Solitary Man". At the time Neil was a very busy young man with lots of ideas all at once for getting himself established in the music industry.</div><div><br></div><div>Neil was working on multiple projects and he was between record labels, both of which were releasing songs, when all of a sudden, "Solitary Man" hit the charts!</div><div><br></div><div>Then the flurry of activity took over as Neil quickly re-recorded his song with both labels, mono and stereo, alone and with musical backup. He even multi-tracked the song, so the version you heard on the radio varied with when and where you were in the country at any given moment.</div><div><br></div><div>WOW!</div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div>Well here's the version I'm familiar with released by Bang Studios with it's near attempt at stereo recording.</div><div>Regardless of the version, this was Neil Diamonds first big hit song:</div><div><br></div> <div style="position:relative;height:0;padding-bottom:75.0%"><iframe src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/0MuvgRuTP5I?ecver=2" width="480" height="360" frameborder="0" style="position:absolute;width:100%;height:100%;left:0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe></div>eddstarrSep 19, 2017View
37575The End of Toy StoresI always dreamed of working there.<div><br></div><div>Looks like that's coming to a screeching halt.</div>Mr MagicSep 19, 2017View
37574The End of Toy StoresThat's pretty depressing news as Toys R Us is one of those places I enjoyed going to as a kid. I haven't gone there a ton, but when I have, it was always exciting to look around at all the varieties of toys, action figures, video games, and so much others.<div><br></div><div>There's a Toys R Us close to where I work that I go to sometimes. They have some nice collectibles, but it doesn't really seem that full of people. I guess it's kind of expected in the day and age of online shopping.</div><div><br></div><div>I'll be sad if or (most likely) when Toys R Us shuts down. That, along with GameStop is one of those places I'd hate to see go away. Yeah, I know GameStop doesn't offer the best experience, but that's one of the last full video game stores offered, and I would hate to see that go as well.</div>blueluigiSep 19, 2017View
37573The End of Toy Storesheard about it on facebook too. it sucks, toys r us was one of my favorite places of my childhood. also it was where my parents would buy video games long before game stores like funcoland and eb games existed.BenjanimeSep 19, 2017View
37572The End of Toy StoresVery sad news for major retail, especially just before the 2017 Holiday season.<div><br></div><div>But keep an eye on small, local specialty toy stores with emphasis on hand-made toys. &nbsp;</div>eddstarrSep 19, 2017View

37570Nintendo to discontinue Miiverse service<div>well as sad as it sounds, there have been wii u and 3ds users who have managed to make their own forums and discord servers inspired by the closing of the miiverse service. i actually did join one forum called "mvhaven" but i won't be there for very long. the forum design feels bland and the topic areas don't give me much reason to stay anyway.</div><div><br></div><div>https://www.mvhaven.com/</div>BenjanimeSep 19, 2017View
