137VideoVenomous MaskYeah, it's a shame they got lost in the shuffle. Matijevic could really hit those high notes. Jan 12, 2013View
1442ArticleHoju KoolanderSometimes those "hodge podge" costumes can turn out to be the most special. My best friend created a character called "Rakeman" over several years of participating in haunted yards/garages. I loved the idea so much, I eventually made a very no-budget (and it shows) horror-comedy about the character, fleshing out the Rakeman's back story and adding my own flare to it. If you're looking for something spooky to watch for Halloween, you can check it out here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MaT_B7FXw78Costume RedemptionOct 16, 2014View
1444ArticleVaporman87I've one the "hodge podge" costume a time or two. It works especially well when you base it around a really great mask. I had an expensive troll/zombie like mask with eyes that lit up (red) that was fantastic to look AT. Looking THROUGH... that was another thing entirely. But I made through the night by slipping my mask up over my face when I was walking between houses. @Hoju: You MUST upload that entire movie (in .flv or .mp4 (ipad codec... h.264 I think) to this site for the "Home Movies" section of the videos. It's awesomely cheesy! Love it.Costume RedemptionOct 17, 2014View
1448ArticlepikachuloverI've made other "hodge podge" costumes, but they were all girly things. I mostly wore them in high school. And the box with all my "random costume pieces" has mostly girly stuff in there like plush animal ear headbands and fairy wings. I have other things in there like old bed sheets and some creepy cloth. One year that I passed out candy I put together this really nice goth style outfit with a lacy skirt and some striped socks. My original idea in 2010 was to dress as a cartoon character from an obscure Italian cartoon. Then I realized it wasn't very popular and nobody would recognize who I was dressed as. 1451Articlejkatzpl, I don't know about anybody else, but I love costumes you throw together from whatever you have lying around the house. It's fun and you can get really creative and elaborate with it. I remember how one year I was pressed for time I so threw on a beret, tied a scarf around my neck, smeared my face with some makeup and went as "the snooty frenchman". Maybe that's a bad example but you get the idea.Costume RedemptionOct 18, 2014View
1537ArticleSegaFanaticIt's always about whether or not you've got a good costume; fun article! I went as Ghostface/Scream Lloyd Christmas from Dumb and Dumber, that was one of my more "interesting" costumes.Costume RedemptionNov 29, 2014View

1443ArticleHoju KoolanderAffordable video games at a Pharmacy? No wonder they went out of business! That's pretty sweet that your Mom got discounts for a while. If I had a family member working at a pharmacy in the 90's, I would have definitely hit them up for a discount on the latest Marvel Universe trading cards.A Grand Day OutOct 16, 2014View
1445ArticleVaporman87A lot of these stops would be my stops as well. Lots of familiarity in these places to frequent. Unfortunately, these places were typically at least 25 minutes away, so I would settle for the local mom and pop stops for some of them... which is great in and of itself, as you know.A Grand Day OutOct 17, 2014View
1446ArticlepikachuloverI was never really a gamer, but I was friends with a pair of gamer brothers who would always shop at Funcoland. I think I remember their mom complaining about having to drive them there. A Grand Day OutOct 17, 2014View
