| Article | Fulton4V | In the early 00s I bought some of the Mad max toys that were figures. They reminded me of Gijoe or Star Wars figures. I dont know how made them. | Jan 24, 2014
| Article | Vaporman87 | I was happy to see (or smell that is) that Stinkor for the Classics line was also scented with that familiar foul aroma. I would say, with regard to toys in general that scared me, I did have a tremendous fear of ventriloquist dummies. I had seen parts or the movie, "Magic", starring Anthony Hopkins. That did it for for me. And then seeing "Poltergeist" didn't help either. As far as toys that I myself owned, I once had a 4 or 5 foot tall gorilla that stood on all fours. It was an awesome toy. I personally never feared it as it stood beside my bed. But my friends who would stay the night didn't feel the same way. Most of them hated the thing. LOL. Thanks again Miss M. | The Fear of Toys | Jan 24, 2014
| Article | Mr Magic | Imagine having one of those Good Guy dolls from Child's Play. You don't want it coming to life. | The Fear of Toys | Jan 24, 2014
| Article | Vaporman87 | LOL. That would be another example of a film turning me against dolls and dummies. They get a bad rap from the film industry. And that's if you leave out the horror one feels when seeing the Garbage Pail Kids movie. | The Fear of Toys | Jan 24, 2014
| Article | The Trash Man | Stinkor's aroma is heavenly. Second only to the smell of old books [and comics]. Actually, I loved the pine scent of Moss-Man, too. I remember ordering the Classics' version for my friend for Christmas last year and, just, inhaling deeply when I opened the box he arrived in. Even through the white Mattel mailer, I was overwhelmed by how strong the smell was, and how it instantly transported me back to being a kid and picking out the original MOTU Moss-Man from the toy store. | The Fear of Toys | Jan 24, 2014
| Article | Mr Magic | If a toy does happen to come to life, make sure you can trust it! Remember Lotso from Toy Story 3? He may have looked friendly, but that doesn't mean he was. | The Fear of Toys | Jan 24, 2014
| Article | Vaporman87 | I can still vaguely recall the smell of opening up a new NES cartridge from it's cardboard and plastic home. It's so strange how odors like that can bury itself in our memory banks for a lifetime. And like Trash Man mentioned, old comics can send you back too. | The Fear of Toys | Jan 24, 2014
| Article | Vaporman87 | On the subject of Bill Nye, I heard he will soon be debating Ken Ham from Answers In Genesis (the proprietor of the Creation Museum) on the topic of human creation/evolution. Interesting. | 90's Vs: Bill Nye the Science Guy vs... | Jan 25, 2014
| Article | Vaporman87 | Ahhh... you really know how to bring out the nostalgia in a reader. Yes, rainy days COULD be fun. To be honest, I don't remember much about what we would typically do during elementary school recesses that were rained out. If I'm not mistaken, we would hang out in class or the gym. This was not nearly as fun as being outside (and under less focused supervision). Yet, rainy days did have a special quality about them. For me, it forced me to draw more on my inner creativity... creating new ways to enjoy my toys or new ideas for crafting or drawing things that interested me. Everything from forts in the garage made of refrigerator boxes (my family owned a furniture store until the mid-90's) to robots made with cardboard, construction paper, markers, and tape. I didn't particularly like playing IN the rain though. However, it did provide some neat chances to create mini landscapes for my toys to live in... landscapes with "ponds" and "rivers". This was a great article. Thanks for this vkimo!!! | Remembering Rainy Days | Jan 30, 2014
| Article | ThatDudeintheHoodie | Rainy days were something that I will never forget as a kid. It was usually fun to be inside every once in a while. I never liked getting wet when I didn't want to. But I enjoyed the rain enough to like it every once in a while. It's nice though living where there is a really big rainy season and looking outside from my desk at my job watching the rain fall. | Remembering Rainy Days | Jan 30, 2014 |
