ArticleVaporman87Speaking of "plastic", I can recall purchasing wallets and pretending that the "cards" that came with it were actually valid and I would purchase myself several toys (that I just happened to already own). Ahhh, youth. Those charges were ones I never had to repay. If only it were that way with the cards I have now. LOL Apr 14, 2015View
ArticleVaporman87I had several shirts and hats I treasured. No pants though. LOL. One shirt I really loved was my Subway "Put A Foot In Your Mouth" shirt. It was just a plain white t-shirt with the Subway logo and the phrase I just mentioned emblazoned across the chest in red. I wore that shirt for decades (seriously, decades). Also, there was a Batman shirt that was black and had the Dark Knight standing in the shadows wearing his classic blue and grey garb. Finally, there was my Spuds McKenzie shirt in all it's bright pastel on white glory. I have a photo of me in that shirt from many years ago. It only recently was discarded, after the armpits became a crusty mass and it could no longer be comfortably worn. LOLTreasured ClothingApr 18, 2015View
ArticleVaporman87I loved Mannequin. Like you, I would watch it many times. I was fascinated by the idea of creating your own perfect woman (though I was not as fond of Weird Science for whatever reason). I had totally forgotten that James Spader played the bad guy here. He always did a bang up job as a bad guy/douche. It's fitting that he is playing Ultron in the Avengers 2. While I always thought Kristy Swanson (from Mannequin 2) was the more attractive female of the two, the first movie was far superior in every way. I think the second one kind of took the cheese factor to a whole new level that, even for the 80's, was just too much. Mannequin - An Unappreciated ClassicApr 27, 2015View
ArticleVaporman87Okay... I'll admit that the Legends of Batman series is intriguing, but all they did with the Batman Animated Series in '94 was crank out 40,000 Batman variants and one bad guy. Good grief, if there was one thing I DESPISED about the 90's, it was the onset of the "variant"! Yes, we had our share of variants in the 80's, sure. Terror-Claws Skeletor??? But man, Kenner... and to an even greater extent, Playmates... just went OVERBOARD with the variants. Such a waste of plastic. Nice Shadow collection you have there. I enjoyed The Shadow, but never though much about it after my initial viewing. I liked Alec Baldwin at the time (less so as years passed and he became a liberal nutcase), and thought he performed the role adequately. That Shaq had his own line of figures is proof that companies would just make toys of anything popular by the mid-90's (even more so today). Kenner Action Toy Guide '94Apr 27, 2015View
ArticleVaporman87I got in my truck this morning, started it up, and what was playing at that moment on the 80's on 8? You guessed it... Starship - Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now. LOL.Mannequin - An Unappreciated ClassicApr 28, 2015View
ArticleVaporman87@massreality: Agreed. Those are the types of movies that should be the target of the "reboot". Those that just kind of flew under the radar and never gained traction the first go around.Kenner Action Toy Guide '94Apr 29, 2015View
ArticleVaporman87@Hoju: Raimi? That would be very cool. I'd love to see what he could do with the character.Kenner Action Toy Guide '94May 01, 2015View
