4004ArticleHoju Koolander@NLogan KB was a way to shop for "retro" toys, but after just a few years of the line's release. @Vaporman87 My complete disregard for conventional employment led to many adventures, that's for sure KB was a discount heaven for those of us who had less mainstream taste. For example, all The Shadow figures found nowadays have a KB Toys price tag on them. Author's Note: I mistakenly called Captain Liberty from The Tick "Liberty Lass" in the article. I got her mixed up with a fictional heroine from Mark Hammil's mockumentary Comic Book The Movie. My bad. Jul 22, 2017View
4378ArticleHoju Koolander@NLogan I'm pretty sure to this day my Dad has no idea how he contributed to my rudimentary cosplay. @Vaporman87 Well, I did hold a press conference to reveal the truth of my identity, but then I made a deal with the Devil and erased 40 years of history, so you've all forgotten about it. Also, I've been recast several times so it's hard to know who the Spider-Man is these days.My 90s BedroomMay 08, 2018View
3184Articlekidcoffee@NLogan I was going to agree with Vaporman that she would probably have multiple heart attacks at once, but the more I think about it the more I'm convinced that she's actually holed up in her basement secretly playing Grand Theft Auto. She's finally found an outlet to channel her rage and she loves it. @Vaporman87 Thank you for the compliments.Perfect GameDec 11, 2015View
1345ArticleHoju Koolander@NLogan I thought I remembered that being part of the deal. Still, as incompetent as Beast-Man was, would he really be your first choice of evil minion?Slime Time!Sep 29, 2014View
1468Articlepikachulover@NLogan I think females can get away with the sexy costumes in a warmer climate like where I live provided it's a warm night. And usually Halloween is pretty much the only time of year I like to wear a skirt or dress. Frilly and ScaryOct 20, 2014View
1750ArticleHoju Koolander@NLogan I also ate french fries while listening to The Shadow, but not fancy homemmade style, that's sounds great. I had to settle for McDonald's while sitting in my Dad's car listening to the broadcasts over the radio. Although I did eventually buy a set of cassettes that showcased 2 episodes from each actor to play The Shadow over the years.Halloween Hallelujah!Jan 02, 2015View
1587ArticleHoju Koolander@NLogan I almost referenced the Big Trouble In Little China Raiden/Rayden, he was always featured in the Saturday afternoon commercials for local TV broadcasts of the movie. I never knew about the different spellings or the breakdown in the original Japanese. Cool! @Vaporman87 Typing letters to magazines/newspapers, the original comments section! I bet your letter was infamous around the EGM offices. Scorpion was always my favorite guy as well. I had an obsession with grappling hooks, so his weapon of choice gave him instant status with me. Speaking of which, correction in the second to last paragraph: Johnny Cage fought Scorpion, not Liu Kang. Those freakin' colorful ninjas...Mortal Kombat MemoriesDec 10, 2014View
1384ArticleHoju Koolander@NLogan Definitely had The Duke style glasses. I so wish I still had the Haunted Mansion record. I went through the record collection at the old homestead a few years ago, but it had disappeared. I was able to save the Pirates of the Carribean one though. Not quite as cool, but still memorable.NLogan's Retro Halloween OverloadOct 06, 2014View
4543ArticleHoju Koolander@NLogan Brain and McGruff were definitely oversights on my part, but that just speaks to the power of their characterizations. Brain was a silent hero and McGruff was just a good cop to me. @Vaporman87 Meowwy Wowwy sounds like an illegal substance that Nancy Reagan would not be in favor of.10 Pop Culture Dogs of the 80sSep 05, 2018View
1314ArticleVaporman87@NLogan - Yeah, I spent a few years at the He-Man.org website contributing mostly in the Fan Art Forum. Then one day the site Admin, Val Staples, asked me if I wanted to put the silly He-Man comic strip I and Devin "Goatman" Duchscherer had been posting into the newest iteration of the comic (which was, at the time, The Rise of The Snakemen series). Naturally I went totally bonkers and was like "YES YES YES YES YES!" We did four strips, with three of them getting published before Mattel told Val that the strip had to go because they didn't like how their characters were being treated in the strips (as buffoonish, egotistical, lazy, confrontational, etc.). It was fun while it lasted.KIDS, Incorporated: Dreams Come TrueSep 23, 2014View
