1993ArticleHoju Koolander@Vaporman87 I appreciate your final thought there. This has really struck a cord on my Facebook page too, judging by the comments. Hey, if we can raise a kinder generation of kids it would be great. Otherwise we can just help our kids to deal with the inevitable times of being singled out for our differences and teach them to celebrate that. Sure I got picked on, but I never changed for other people. Eventually they appreciated who I was. OK, off my soap box now ;) @NLogan It's so cool that you had back-up all those years, great to have a partner along for the ride. Al That moving must have been rough. Your point about the possessions is pretty well founded, sometimes they would be the only constant. Feb 13, 2015View
3364ArticleHoju Koolander@Vaporman87 I am imagining multiple puzzle based locks and mechanics in your Valentine receptical. @pikachulover Yeah, Tiny Toons and Animaniacs were definitely big for everybody back then.Rad Retro ValentinesFeb 15, 2016View
4640ArticleHoju Koolander@Vaporman87 I agree about that snotty troll, but we knew what we were all getting into with Ernest Scared Stupid. Now if he had showed up in Slam Dunk Earnest...5 Scary Characters In Family FilmsOct 26, 2018View
2310ArticleHoju Koolander@Vaporman87 Good to be back! Oh poor Prototype, aka "Imitation Iron Man", at least he wasn't as mixed up as "Mantra"...oh my. I totally had the Marvel Super Heroes Deathlok action figure with the lifting metal brain cover, even though I never picked up an issue of his book. I always got Union and Supreme mixed up for some reason. @comic_book_fan Sleepwalker definitely needed to be on this list. I feel like whenever I see piles of old comics at a thrift store there is bound to be 2 or 3 Sleepwalker #1's in there. Five Forgotten Comic Heroes of the 90'sJun 19, 2015View
2584ArticleHoju Koolander@Vaporman87 Godzilla was so embraced by America, it's almost as if he has dual-citizenship. My favorite rental of the G-Man was King Kong vs. Godzilla, but it never registered to me as strictly Japanese when I was a kid, despite the obvious dubbing over Japanese actors. @massreality Is the marble edible? Sounds like a game where you try not to hoke to death ;) Have you ever tried those Koala cookies with the chocolate filling? I left those out of the article for space, but that was another Japanese snack I really enjoyed.Japanimaniacs: Video Games, Toys and SnacksAug 29, 2015View
3009ArticleHoju Koolander@Vaporman87 Glad you got a chuckle out of my ridiculousness. I did come across Nightmare in my research, just didn't have any personal experience with it. @mickyarber I'm excited to read more about Dark Tower, it's still a mystery to me after all these years.5 Spooky Board GamesOct 23, 2015View
3713ArticleHoju Koolander@Vaporman87 Glad to know you too experienced the glory of the acid washed jean jacket. I'm sure you rocked it more proudly than I did. @NLogan Yes, the surf element of the game was pretty tough as a kid, but nowadays my son loves to watch me wipe out. @jkatz Bust 'em out, man. It's crazy what we took for granted back then as just being a part of life, which now seems so kitschy and retro.Hoju's 7th Birthday Party: 1989Jan 30, 2017View
2189ArticleHoju Koolander@Vaporman87 Glad to know they acknowledge the past on the new series, I did hear about the Rob Paulsen thing. Didn't they do a similar crossover with the 80's incarnation in the Turtles Forever special with the last 2-D version of the TMNT? @echidna64 I haven't seen much from that duo, although I hear the names a lot. I did watch their Bayou Billy review just to make sure I wasn't rehashing the same old stuff, when I wrote that article. I'll have to check out their thoughts on the TMNT.Turtles: The Teenage Mutant KindApr 02, 2015View
3441ArticleHoju Koolander@Vaporman87 For me, every day of gym class was an embarrassing experience. @echidna64 Mom's are so clueless, yet so loveable. @Rick Ace Rhodes I feel like we need to know what kind of a scene you were making at graduation. I personally wore a large, vintage KISS belt buckle outside my graduation gown with no shame whatsoever.Childhood Embarrassment 9021-D'oh!Mar 14, 2016View
3045ArticleHoju Koolander@Vaporman87 Empty Haunted Bathroom? That's a pretty awesome fear right there. @echidna64 Of course as a kid you'd never think of the obvious solution: Take the trash out in daylight. @comic_book_fan What finally convinced you that your family weren't aliens? It's very possible they just used a mind control ray on you and are still plotting to take over the Earth.Childhood FearsOct 29, 2015View
