988ArticleMissMVaporman, I've heard so many people talking about the Radio Shack commercial. I feel like it was the hit of this year's Super Bowl ads. And yes, the Whatchamacallit ad is just amazing isn't it? I also never had a reason to own a pager as the only people I'd talk to were my parents and brother, and I lived with them. lol I'm glad you enjoyed these commercials! pikachulover, I totally agree. There are so many commercials that just burrow themselves into my brain. And I have to agree, the 1984 Apple ad is a bit overrated now. I don't really get excited about it. Your high school assemblies sound completely amazing! I wish those had been video taped or something for us all to see. It sounds absolutely cool.  Feb 08, 2014View

971ArticlepikachuloverActually the bands did play English language songs the DJs didn't. I only crushed on that guy at school for a year because he graduated when I was a freshman. Dancing and BasketballJan 31, 2014View
970ArticleVaporman87Good grief! What country was your school in that there were all these bands who didn't know any English language songs? Oh right, California. lol. ;) Ah, if there is one thing I can clearly recall it is the feeling of being at one of our high school dances after the football games. Many times, I was like you... sitting on the bleachers talking with friends and imagining dancing with my crush. She, of course, had a boyfriend at all times and was fathoms out of my league, but that just can't stop those dreams, can it. I can vividly recall the dancing going on to the recently released single by none other than Vanilla Ice, Ice Ice Baby. Yup, every student and his brother was out there dancing like fools to that song. Wow, looking back on it now it all seems so ridiculous. LOL. But man, it was huge when it first hit. Thanks so much for this pikachulover!Dancing and BasketballJan 31, 2014View
1008ArticleMissMThis was such a fun article about school dances. I never went to mine, but if I had, I feel like I would have shared in a similar experience with you. I enjoyed this, I hope you share more memories like this for us to read. Dancing and BasketballFeb 18, 2014View
966ArticleVaporman87I think the show that most captured my attention as a kid that had a particular focus on wildlife was Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom. I can remember coming home from church on Sundays and sitting down on the couch to enjoy that show. I can still hear the show announcer ringing in my ears, introducing the show following commercial breaks. Great show, that was.Long Lost 90s: Really Wild AnimalsJan 30, 2014View

1007ArticleMissMVery cool. I never really saw these, but I do remember owning a great deal of books and magazines about animals. That Deep Sea Dive episode would have been my favorite too. I've always liked that kind of stuff.Long Lost 90s: Really Wild AnimalsFeb 18, 2014View
953ArticleVaporman87I was happy to see (or smell that is) that Stinkor for the Classics line was also scented with that familiar foul aroma. I would say, with regard to toys in general that scared me, I did have a tremendous fear of ventriloquist dummies. I had seen parts or the movie, "Magic", starring Anthony Hopkins. That did it for for me. And then seeing "Poltergeist" didn't help either. As far as toys that I myself owned, I once had a 4 or 5 foot tall gorilla that stood on all fours. It was an awesome toy. I personally never feared it as it stood beside my bed. But my friends who would stay the night didn't feel the same way. Most of them hated the thing. LOL. Thanks again Miss M.The Fear of ToysJan 24, 2014View
