1638ArticleHoju Koolander@vkimo I never knew you were such a Batman devotee. Did you attach this velcro bat-symbol or did you buy it that way? I am intrigued. @Vaporman87 glad you can back me up on this. Speaking of Batmania, there was a VHS that came out around this time called "Holy Batmania!" covering the phenomenon. My copy no longer plays, but I remember this segment of Adam West as Batman at some rinky-dink fan event giving it his all to entertain. It was sad and inspiring at the same time. Interesting that you had Mantis, he came at the end of the line when Kenner started throwing in lesser known characters, just because they had cool designs or making up new ones altogether. @thecrow174 Yeah, the return of Indiana Jones and Ghostbusters in '89 were just some the highlights, I wonder if we will get a year like that in the 21st century.  Dec 15, 2014View

3661ArticleHoju Koolander@vkimo Happy Trails, vkimo! As for which Gas Station, I'm sure it exploded in a Griswold related incident years ago. @RickAceRhodes That story needs to be fleshed out in an article. 7 hours for a 1 hour trip? That's an adventure! @Vaporman87 I've got plenty of new stuff in the hopper once the vintage articles are restored.Family Road TripsJan 04, 2017View
1924ArticleHoju Koolander@vkimo "Husky" would have been more acceptable to me, now that I think about it. It's got a softer feel to it. @Vaporman87 I think everyone had that fat friend they picked on, that's why I wrote the article. So I think you're off the hook. I just happened to BE the fat kid, but I realize now that kids are just dumb and can't think of much else to say. "Your ability to style your hair is sub-par" just doesn't have the same ring as, "Hey, Chubb-o". I had a friend who also used my weight as a source of comedy in our audio cassette recordings of fake morning shows and sketches, needless to say I found other partners pretty quickly. In retrospect his weak comic insults were kind of pointless, since it's not a visual medium. Being The Fat KidFeb 09, 2015View
4173ArticleSuperman@vkimo - From the looks of her, you can hardly believe that she's not younger. Meanwhile, half of the kids at the school I work at tell me I look much older whenever I tell them my age.My Trip to Wizard World Chicago 2017Oct 10, 2017View

4088ArticleRadical@Vaporman87: Yeah, I left it open-ended in case I ever wanted to repoot him. My skills have almost met my ambitions after all these years. I do feel Pooter's decade was the 90s, like Eddie Murphy's was the 80s. @NLogan: My brother and I would write letters to every business, enter every contest, and send in proof of purchases for every cool toy. Not sure how my parent felt about it, but they provided the stamps and envelopes. Snail mail was awesome in a way that social media isn't: tangible and professional. I always wanted Sonic or Mario to read my letters, which I'm sure they did. @vkimo: Hey thanks! The formatting worked its way out while I was writing it, but I had to start off with an obvious poot joke to clear the air. Would you believe the most time and effort went into identifying and finding fonts they used in 90s kids magazines? I eventually used a Scrapbook making software that had 1000 fonts in it.Oh Pooter!Aug 29, 2017View
787ArticleAjimbo@Vaporman87: The Big Orange Couch was given away in a contest with $20,000 dollars in the cushions. The manager of the Sony studio in LA went to grad school with me two years ago and told me that her friends won it when I mentioned I studied nostalgia. 1801ArticleHoju Koolander@Vaporman87: My favorite lyric of the Gummi Bears theme is "Magic and mystery are part of their history, along with the secret of Gummi Berry Juice..." Very medieval/sword and sorcery with all those horns blaring. @thecrow174: Excellent point. Duck Tales and Rescue Rangers had some of the best NES games ever, not limiting the discussion to just licensed games. So it's odd that Gummi Bears never go that treatment.
