VideoVaporman87Wow, this brings back memories. My best friend Phil and I used to argue endlessly over which song was better - Los Lobos' La Bamba, or Club Nuevo's Lean On Me. Both were remakes of songs. I argued Lean On Me was better, while he argued La Bamba was better. Naturally, I was right all long. ;) Aug 11, 2015View

ArticleVaporman87I typically relied on renting for my fixes, unless I was certain that I wanted the game in my collection. I did some trades, but not often. Most of my friends didn't have the same console as me. My best friend Phil did, and I would trade with him from time to time. We had several mom and pop rental shops in the area, and though they usually took their sweet time getting in the newest titles, they did have a decent selection for being in such a depressed area.A Summer QuestAug 12, 2015View
ArticleVaporman87I've never played a single Pokemon game, card or cartridge. I have no idea who these characters are (though I've become familiar with some because my daughter is somewhat interested in Pokemon). I'm lost in all the talk of moves and evolutions. And yet, your enthusiasm for the property makes me wish I knew everything you know about. I can only imagine the fun and excitement of experiencing the camaraderie of the Pokemon fan community, especially in the early days. Thanks for this little taste of the fun and friendship that Pokemon helped to spark.Age of PokemonAug 12, 2015View
ArticleVaporman87It's good to have you here with us. Any family of Ben is certainly welcome here. I too own The Killing Joke, though I'm not certain I have ever read it all the way through. But yes, owning Graphic Novels is definitely the way to go if you're just catching up on some of the better storylines. I would like to pick up a novel of Civil War, and also the old Secret Wars story (not the new one). Thanks for sharing! The Cereal Box in the ClosetAug 12, 2015View
ArticleVaporman87You know what is really funny about this... that in the bathroom next to our family room I have multiple Godzilla movie posters hanging. And here I thought it was just me! Speaking of Godzilla, that is my "obscure collector's obsession". I have everything from Trendmasters to Bandai figures stuffed in various closet spaces. The Japanese import Bandai figs are worth far more moolah than my Trendmaster stuff, but TM figs hold their own pretty well in the aftermarket. 2521ArticleVaporman87Wow. This had a surprisingly high amount of facts unknown to me. I didn't even realize BraveStarr was Filmation's final outing. Nor was I aware that He-Man and She-Ra were originally going to be love interests. That just creeps me out to think about now. LOL Also, Dave Coulier gets around my friend. Smurfs killing people doesn't actually surprise me that much. That Grumpy Smurf was just a hair's breadth away from killing the whole lot of them. 2524ArticleVaporman87Yeah, I knew he replaced Lorenzo Music as Peter. That had me wondering if he really did replace Arsenio, doing two voices on the show.Little Known Facts About 25 of Your Favorite 80's Cartoons!Aug 14, 2015View
ArticleVaporman87Great story mass! What a odd and interesting way to finally end up with an NES. The year I and my brother first got an NES of our own was probably the greatest Christmas (as far as sheer number of awesome presents) I ever had. Not only did we get the NES and games, but also we each got our own ATVs! It was crazy. I'll never forget that Christmas. How I Got My NESAug 18, 2015View
ArticleVaporman87No doubt, that was a tearjerker for me growing up. I loved the movie so much, but it was hard to get through the whole thing sometimes knowing what was to come. When I first saw the film, the tension that was building when Atreyu tries to pass by the Oracle Statues really had me biting my nails. I'll never forget that feeling. As an adult, you expect things to turn out okay for the protagonist because if it doesn't, the moviegoers will be very upset. But as a kid, you figure his chances are about as good as your own, and that doesn't inspire confidence. LOL Like you said though, the ending makes it all worth it. Fun fact: The voice of Falkor is also the voice of Man-At-Arms and many other MOTU characters from the original He-Man series.Movies that damaged me as a child - Part 1Aug 18, 2015View
