1400ArticleVaporman87@NLogan: Ha! Frank is deep in thought about the dangers ISIL/ISIS and Ebola pose. Oct 08, 2014View
1401ArticleVaporman87That is certainly a weird concept for a Garfield story. I may have to look that up just to see what that's all about. And I was always a little creeped out by Neff's "Welcome to your doom" statement. I remember thinking it was hilarious to go into the sound effects menu of the game and repeatedly activate that sound, then mix it with "Rise from your grave". I know this, because I have it tape recorded. LOL. Creepshow had some pretty goosebump inducing parts, as did the second one. Overall, I think they were both pretty well done, but they are what they are... kind of tongue-in-cheek horror. Nice article Ben, and a fine way to wrap up this series. Good to see you back at it again.Benjanime Scared Stupid IIIOct 08, 2014View
1406ArticleVaporman87I didn't realize Knott's was owned by Cedar Fair. They also own the two big Ohio parks (King's Island and Cedar Point). That's cool. Cedar Fair does do a Halloween/October makeover to each of those parks, but they aren't as elaborate as what happens at Knott's. Still, I'm guessing they put what they have learned from Knott's to work in those parks... which can only make them better. Haunting MemoriesOct 09, 2014View
1408ArticleVaporman87Much as it does suck for it to become official, the truth that we all never really accepted was that Saturday Morning Cartoons died a long time ago. And by that, I mean they died when the 3 (and then 4) major networks got out of the SMC business. Smaller networks like CW may have carried the torch on for a bit longer, but not everyone gets a CW channel, and even if they do, fewer actually watch it. No my friend, Saturday Morning Cartoon had one foot in the grave for a long time. It's just really hard to accept the whole truth of it when it becomes official. Apparently we nostalgia nerds aren't the only ones who felt that way either, as I noticed a plethora of articles on the subject that headlined the largest sites on the net, including Yahoo!. They will be missed.R.I.P. Saturday Morning CartoonsOct 09, 2014View

1413ArticleVaporman87I'd be interested in seeing them if you get the chance. Post them in the Halloween Nostalgia and More thread, if you ever feel inclined to. :)Haunting MemoriesOct 09, 2014View
1431ArticleVaporman87I think we've all had at least one of those stories passed around regarding "the house next door" or some escaped murderer on the loose. Kids love scaring other kids. I was not immune to it, unfortunately. More than once, I made up a story about a little girl getting caught in hidden quicksand in the woods behind our house (DOH!). Naughty, naughty. And there was at least one house in our little neighborhood that could have easily been the subject of a scary tale (though it wasn't). One thing that IS true, and can be good for giving a kid some fright, is that the catfish in the Ohio River (a mere 10 minutes from me) can reach the size of men. I've seen pictures of some that were almost that size, caught be people I know. Tales of them were pretty regular after divers began searching for the remains of people who had died in the Silver Bridge Collapse in the town over from us (and also across the river in Point Pleasant WV). Oh, then there was that whole Mothman thing... but that's a whole other subject unto itself.Scary Stories from the SchoolyardOct 14, 2014View
1436ArticleVaporman87Sweet. Funny thing (or not), I still haven't seen anything from McDonald's as far as Halloween stuff. I wonder what's up.NLogan's Retro Halloween OverloadOct 14, 2014View
1444ArticleVaporman87I've one the "hodge podge" costume a time or two. It works especially well when you base it around a really great mask. I had an expensive troll/zombie like mask with eyes that lit up (red) that was fantastic to look AT. Looking THROUGH... that was another thing entirely. But I made through the night by slipping my mask up over my face when I was walking between houses. @Hoju: You MUST upload that entire movie (in .flv or .mp4 (ipad codec... h.264 I think) to this site for the "Home Movies" section of the videos. It's awesomely cheesy! Love it.Costume RedemptionOct 17, 2014View
1445ArticleVaporman87A lot of these stops would be my stops as well. Lots of familiarity in these places to frequent. Unfortunately, these places were typically at least 25 minutes away, so I would settle for the local mom and pop stops for some of them... which is great in and of itself, as you know.A Grand Day OutOct 17, 2014View
