ArticleVaporman87I was always disappointed by the fact that I could never recreate the image on the front of Halloween Makeup/Costume packaging. You would think by a certain age, you would come to the realization that no product is EVER faithfully recreated from the packaging or promotional image (fast food... I'm looking at you). But no. We keep believing, and failing. LOL This year, with my family going as Scooby-Doo and the gang, I've found that I don't WANT to recreate the all-in-one promo/package look. They're dreadful and cheap looking. My wife is gathering our costumes one piece at a time through various outlets (with the exception of Scooby).  Sep 10, 2014View
ArticleVaporman87Ha! A few good zingers in there! Thankfully for me, I was neither confused or impressed by Hanson. I knew they were males, and I knew I hated their music. Yes, the song was catchy. But terrible songs can be catchy... Banana Phone??? Again, thankfully, these lads have grown up, and perhaps if they do start making music again, their music will have grown up also. Time will tell. 1227ArticleVaporman87Okay, for starters... I find it awesome that the Yoda costume you are wearing in the article is almost the same as the vintage Yoda costume given away as part of last year's Halloween Article Contest. Ask Ben (Benjanime) to send you a photo of it. LOL There's is no doubt about the sheer joy you're experiencing in these photos. You were a die-hard trick-or-treating fanatic through and through. My personal costume choices were similarly varied. Sometimes I was out as one of the usual boxed, mask and vinyl bodysuit characters, but other times I would just buy a really creepy, decked out mask and couple that with some backwoods garb, like a puffy flannel jacket, ripped jeans, and boots. You just never knew what my choice would be that year. My final trick-or-treat outing was not even in my own neighborhood, but that of my friend, who was taking his little brother trick-or-treating. It felt bittersweet, but appropriate then. Now, it's just bittersweet. Then you have kids... and nobody cares that you are dressing up WITH them and eating THEIR candy. Because... you're the parent. Yeah. Actually, that night, you're a kid in a parent's body. Plain and simple. :)Halloween Hallelujah!Sep 10, 2014View

ArticleVaporman87The thing about those old masks was that they were sooo uncomfortable, and you were dripping sweat inside them. It was like a sauna for your face shaped like Yoda.Halloween Hallelujah!Sep 11, 2014View
ArticleVaporman87The story of the Ben Cooper company is an interesting one: http://www.slate.com/articles/life/culturebox/2013/10/ben_cooper_costumes_how_the_popular_plastic_outfits_reinvented_halloween.htmlHalloween Hallelujah!Sep 11, 2014View
ArticleVaporman87My luck with make-up, prosthetics, and other accessories for Halloween was not good at all. Typically I ended up with something far different than what was pictured on the packaging. That was to be expected though, as the images on the packaging are done by teams of professionals. It's when a single person tries to replicate what a team of people achieved that the person realizes just how futile it is to even try. It didn't take me long to realize that I was best sticking with standard masks and clothing.A Little WitchySep 15, 2014View
ArticleVaporman87Perhaps if there were a way to apply the makeup to a prosthetic that was a full face cover, THEN apply the prosthetic AFTER it has been all touched up and painted, that might work alright.A Little WitchySep 15, 2014View
ArticleVaporman87That's cool. I've never heard of this Spirit Gum. Is it a fairly new thing, or something that's been around a while?A Little WitchySep 15, 2014View
