Your mom easily could have read an article there was a woman named Ronnie Lamm in the early eighties that was very anti video games and arcades who was endlessly interviewed about the evils of arcades. How they were not wholesome places for children in bowling alleys, bars, and dark dens of mischief, and how children would steal to support their addiction to video games.
