Article | Hoju Koolander | @Vaporman87 Oh, HGTV is all my wife watches in hotel rooms when we're on vacation. This is my passive aggressive retaliation. @jkatz Now you've got me adding one more item to my wish list. This must happen. | Jan 06, 2019 | ![]() |
Article | Hoju Koolander | Wow, the generational angle of this article is unbelievable. I totally relate to being a poser, but I never even got my Nash board moving, something was wrong with the wheels and without an awesome older neighbor guru to get them rolling I just moved on to comics and action figures. My favorite part of the story is your crush's awesome brother showing up out of nowhere as the God of the ollie, so fun. | Skate or Die Generation | Jan 15, 2019 | ![]()
Article | Hoju Koolander | @vaporman87 Well, I do credit him and his site directly here, so I think we're on the level. It's really a tribute to all his hard work in creating this incredible archive. | Sears Wishbook Finds 1986-1989 | Jan 31, 2019 | ![]()
Article | Hoju Koolander | This was great! Those Super Friends valentines had some deep cut characters like Plastic Man. Plus that spinning leg Flash was hilarious. I also dug seeing those Old Spice bottles and cologne cars, my Dad had plenty of those too. | Vanished Valentine's | Feb 12, 2019 | ![]()
Article | Hoju Koolander | I was a big Wizard reader and subscriber from issue 7 on, so this article was right up my alley. I actually got a Grendel 1/2 comic as a birthday present one year from a cheapskate classmate just passing along his Wizard insert. I do have to disagree with your claim that the magazine showed favoritism toward Marvel and DC though. Especially in the early days the staff acted like the books from Image and Valiant were the pinnacle of graphic storytelling along with other indie books like Shi, Bone, Hellboy and Lady Death. It was only after the early 90s boom ended and the "Big Two" were back to being the main providers of comics to the mainstream that they got more coverage. At least that was my experience. | Five Best Wizard Magazine freebies | Mar 09, 2019 | ![]()
Article | Hoju Koolander | @jkatz What, you don't think kids are getting a decent education from all their apps? Yeah, me neither. @Benjanime Yeah, I have a few issues of Nintendo Power with retro celebrities like Wil Wheaton and Michael Dorn from Star Trek: The Next Generation, New Kids On The Block and then some totally forgotten performers like The Jets. | Mickey Mouse Magazine 1988 | Mar 29, 2019 | ![]()
Article | Hoju Koolander | @vkimo Yeah, Shelley Long can be an acquired taste, but her character in Troop Beverly Hills is a total 180 from Diane on Cheers. Much kinder and goofier, less self-seriousness. | 10 Best Cameos In Troop Beverly Hills | Apr 18, 2019 | ![]()
