516ArticleVaporman87A fun and unique list for sure. Lots of great tracks from some memorable artists, and some that I had long forgotten. It is a curious thing how often colors are invoked in song titles, and even movie titles. A wonderful read. Thanks for this! Mar 23, 2013View
517ArticleVaporman87As violent as raptor and his friends made some of these mostly innocent games, I wouldn't be surprised to learn they had modified Marco Polo by having the "blinded" player armed with a brick to throw whenever the others responded to his/her call.Stupid Childhood Games RememberedMar 23, 2013View
525ArticleVaporman87I must say, I had NONE of these "unpopular" retro toys in my day... with one exception - Clawful. But even regarding Clawful, I can confirm that he was not exactly the toy everyone just had to have in the MOTU line. Terrorcons were nowhere to be found in my closet. I had mostly G1 mainstays, and that was about it. I didn't even realize a Johnny Cage GI Joe had been produced. So, that is news to me! It does seem that the most unpopular releases almost always come toward the end of the toy line (or at least the end of that particular run of them). However, I would probably include every figure from the New Adventures of He-man. LOL Great read MatuX! Thanks for this.Favorite Unpopular Retro ToysMar 26, 2013View
534ArticleVaporman87This was a fun read. Every teacher and class has it's own unwritten "requirements" in order to stay in their good graces. Sometimes this meant NOT being yourself. It puts me in mind of a few of my own high school teachers. Mr. Blaine was a mathematics teacher, and a Jehovah's Witness. Often, during Christmas and Easter seasons, students of some of his classes would feign ignorance of his religion and present him Christmas presents or Easter baskets. LOL. My art teacher was especially picky about the types of "art" you enjoyed. She tolerated me and my friend and our fascination with comic book art, only because we were probably some of the best artists in the school (keep in mind, my school was very small, so this should not be construed as bragging). She even let us repaint the mural on the wall behind her desk from a Prince - Purple Rain piece to a Star Wars piece. LOL. I think after our graduation she immediately let someone else cover up such nonsense. Thanks for this!Ghosts and GumshoesMar 27, 2013View
535ArticleVaporman87Great. Now I can't get that "Take A Picture" song out of my head. LOL. Seriously though, this is a great list, and in my opinion it is a very good representation of the style of sound we heard leading up to the new millennium. While I myself was not listening to much of these songs (I was in a "heavy metal" phase at that time), I do know that some of these tunes were getting tons of airplay at the time. Thanks for this pikachulover!Top 9 videos of 1999Mar 27, 2013View
537ArticleVaporman87There were so many MOTU figures that were simply retooled versions of other characters that I think it eventually lead to the quick death of the line at that time. Think about it, all these other giant 80's properties are still selling big in big box stores, except He-Man. Now, you can still get brand new He-Man and The MOTU figures from MattyCollector.com, but the mainstream appeal of He-Man is just gone it seems.Favorite Unpopular Retro ToysMar 27, 2013View

545ArticleVaporman87If only there were an "attic" I could go to that I knew contained some of my childhood possessions. Unfortunately, most everything that I ever called my own have been discovered and stored away, or sold. Sure, there are some items across the street from my office that is used as storage, and there are several items there from as early as the mid-90's. But nothing that would surprise me too greatly if I dug them out. I often wonder how cool it would be to visit a house that has been abandoned for many years and find some great retro treasures. How fun that would be! Thanks for this MatuX!My Visit To The AtticMar 27, 2013View
