3273ArticleHoju KoolanderMy first CD was Smashing Pumpkins Mellon Collie and The Infinite Sadness, which I still own. It was a mysterious media format to me in the mid 90's, being so devoted to listening and recording on audio cassettes. Jan 13, 2016View
3288ArticleHoju KoolanderWhat a varied list, this was awesome. Those Playskool People are such time capsule figures, seeing as they were created to represent the "contemporary" look of everyday people from that era. I too have long been amazed by R-Rated toy lines like Terminator 2, Demolition Man, Predator and Rambo. The basic attitude of the day seemed to be, "If it looks cool, mold it in plastic for the kids". That was a great story about your Miss Elizabeth figure. My Dad was also involved in a lot of my collecting during childhood, though it was most definitely not his thing. Miss M's Top 10 Retro Toys of 2015!Jan 20, 2016View
3302ArticleHoju KoolanderI totally remember watching the Robocop appearance live and later on, Chucky. All I can say is that Ernest "The Cat" Miller, The Misfits, The Demon, Chris Jericho, Raven and The Flock all kept me watching during the Monday Night Wars until Arquette won the belt, but I never went back to WWE. 3303ArticleHoju KoolanderIt's great to hear you had such supportive parents, my Mom had to talk me through some tearful moments as well, when I couldn't understand why I was such a target for bullies. Obviously I know where you're coming from, but it never got this intense. Physical injuries? Moving out of state? I'm glad to hear that high school was fun and you were able to make it through. Seriously, you had some good folks.Being BulliedFeb 02, 2016View
3315ArticleHoju Koolander@massreality You're right, I totally spaced on Ecto-1 since I wasn;t thinking about the animated series. Now that I think about it, Inspector Gadget's GadgetMobile was pretty awesome too, so it gets a runner-up prize.5 Best TV Cars of the 80sFeb 05, 2016View
3343ArticleHoju Koolander@GLOW Wrestling Official Hey, thanks for checking it out. GLOW was such an 80s phenomenon it definitely deserved all the space it got in this article. When Wrestling RockedFeb 10, 2016View
3342ArticleHoju Koolander@DirtyD79 That car mechanic role play sounds awesome, I never would have come up with that as a kid.Bunk BedsFeb 10, 2016View
3364ArticleHoju Koolander@Vaporman87 I am imagining multiple puzzle based locks and mechanics in your Valentine receptical. @pikachulover Yeah, Tiny Toons and Animaniacs were definitely big for everybody back then.Rad Retro ValentinesFeb 15, 2016View
3375ArticleHoju KoolanderSanrio items were so exotic, parents just didn't get it. Not being a girl I never heard of Minnie N Me, but it's so of that era. I can't imagine giving away something so precious and new at that age.The PurseFeb 20, 2016View
3382ArticleHoju Koolander@Vaporman87 Obviously I was watching Power Rangers beyond the suggested age range, but I am with you on Pokemon, that show is garbage. I was watching an episode with my son recently and they literally just repeat variations of the same dialogue over and over again until they get to the Pokemon battle. Talk about mind-numbing. @pikachulover Hopefully you can forgive my previous comment, but I'm glad to know you were on the fringe with me watching Superhuman Samurai Syber Squad. I had a buddy with the Servo toy and one of the monsters and I thought it was pretty cool. @Benjanime You Sonic fans are a loyal bunch and Jaleel White thanks you for the paychecks. That would be an interesting story to hear the details of. I thought Sonic aired on ABC and not FOX like MMPR, so there must have been some serious conspiracy theory stuff going on there.Mighty Morphin Ripoff Rangers Part 1Feb 24, 2016View
