Article | Hoju Koolander | @echidna64 I definitely cut up many a paper shopping bag to protect my text books. Mainly I did this so I could doodle on the outside to customize it. @pikachulover Glad you finally lived the dream in college. Those lead moochers must have been just as bad as the notebook paper freeloaders. | Aug 01, 2015 | ![]() |
Article | Hoju Koolander | Glad I wasn't the only one who didn't become a martial arts master. Didn't stop us from throwing a few chops in our day though, right? | The Karate Class Kid | Aug 01, 2015 | ![]()
Article | Hoju Koolander | So this was really less of an Indiana Jones clone and more of a live action pre-cursor to Tailspin, huh? Never caught this one during my USA Network watching, but reruns of Just The Ten of Us were hard to beat! | A Look Back at Tales of the Gold Monkey | Aug 01, 2015 | ![]()
Article | Hoju Koolander | Super Off Road is my 2 year old's favorite NES game, "I want to play car game". I was a big fan of Rollergames on TV as well, choreographed violence seemed so much more dangerous on wheels. I always wanted to rent the game, but never got around to it. While Mario Bros. 2 is my personal favorite, I remember the hype around 3, especially the Happy Meal toys. | Yesterdays: MY Favorite Nintendo Games Part 3 | Aug 01, 2015 | ![]()
Article | Hoju Koolander | @OldSchool80s Good call! I always associated the standard 4 color pens with my older brother who actually carried them in a pocket protector (he was going to college to be an electrical engineer). But I remember at one point owning a huge shiny purple one that had like 10 colors, which was crazy. | Retro School Supplies | Aug 05, 2015 | ![]()
Article | Hoju Koolander | @massreality Wow, that's a great twist. Your Mom became the martial arts master. That's so cool. | The Karate Class Kid | Aug 07, 2015 | ![]()
Article | Hoju Koolander | Touching story. Having your own personal "Battle Cat" must have been pretty fun. Loved the Altered Beast mash-up idea your young brain came up with. | Summer of Sheeba | Aug 08, 2015 | ![]()
Article | Hoju Koolander | @Vaporman87 You are not alone, Great minds think alike, Birds of a feather and all that. Godzilla collectibles sound like they would take up a lot of space. @echidna64 If we ever get a Maximum Carnage movie, we'll know the Nerds have officially taken over. Kraven's Last Hunt would make a great one too, though maybe that would be better as a direct to Netflix TV-MA one off. | Spider-Man & Venom Action Figure Retrospective Part 2 | Aug 14, 2015 | ![]()
Article | Hoju Koolander | great topic. We must have had the only one of these on the West Coast when I was 9 or 10 called The Wizard of Games. I only went once because of those high prices you talked about, but that console based arcade concept really was a great concept. Of course if you had a rich buddy with all the games, you could get the same effect, I suppose. | A New Kind of Arcade | Aug 14, 2015 | ![]()
Article | Hoju Koolander | The greatest reveal you provided for me was the Dennis the Menace and Phil Hartman connection. I used to watch that cartoon all the time, but I never realized the same actor I enjoyed as Cap'n Karl on The Pee-Wee Herman show/Pee-Wee's Playhouse was voicing Mr. Wilson! The error on the Ghostbusters fact threw me for a second, but it did remind me that in an interview with Ernie Hudson, who played Winston in the movies, he said that he auditioned for the role on the cartoon, but the part went to Arsenio instead. Isn't that crazy? | Little Known Facts About 25 of Your Favorite 80's Cartoons! | Aug 16, 2015 | ![]()
