Article | Hoju Koolander | Another vote for Doo-Wop-A-Saurus! The interstitial segments were definitely what gave Nick its identity, much like the different Saturday Morning Cartoon segments the different networks had. But Nickelodeon always had that extra, artistic edge to them. My go to is always the "Nick-Nick-Nick-Nick-Nick-Nick-Nick-Nickelodeoooooooon". | Apr 19, 2015 | ![]() |
Article | Hoju Koolander | @Vaporman87 Yes, Batman was the king of variants, but he didn't have to be. He has the greatest rogue's gallery of 'em all. @thecrow174 Where did Shaq have a burger? How did I miss that? @echidna64 Did you ever do a crossover where a theme park of Predators on display ran amok and had to be captured by a very svelt Dennis Nedry? @massreality Now see whatcha done? I gotta go download some comics on my iPad. Sam Raimi has been trying to make another movie featuring The Shadow for years, fingers crossed. | Kenner Action Toy Guide '94 | May 01, 2015 | ![]()
Article | Hoju Koolander | I saw Mannequin for the first time a few years ago, I was just amazed at all the familiar faces. It was a real surprise to see "Captain Harris" outside of a Police Academy movie. This film actually has a lot of parallels to one of my guilty pleasures, Xanadu. Frustrated artist gets a magical dream girl to help him achieve success with multiple costume changes during musical montages. Yep, all that's missing is the roller skates. The original Buffy the Vampire Slayer was in Mannequin 2? This I gotta see! | Mannequin - An Unappreciated Classic | May 01, 2015 | ![]()
Article | Hoju Koolander | @massreality yeah, I remember there being a Darkman connection there somewhere. | Kenner Action Toy Guide '94 | May 06, 2015 | ![]()
Article | Hoju Koolander | @thecrow174 I knew I would take some heat over Excitebike (pardon the pun), but I stand by it. As far as racing games go, Ironman Ivan Stewart's Off Road was infinitely more playable to me, almost hypnotic, but Excitebike just never cut it. | NES: The 5 Worst Games | May 12, 2015 | ![]()
Article | Hoju Koolander | Aw, you spoil all the fun by being civil ;) But it's true, naming the greats is totally subjective. Ninja Gaiden might he the greatest game ever, but if my brother flicked my ear every time I tried to play it, I would likely have bad memories of it and keep it off the list. | NES: The 5 Best Games | May 12, 2015 | ![]()
Article | Hoju Koolander | @jkatz Ghostbusters was #6 on the list. it's actually so bad I don't even consider it a game, just an abomination. I could never make anything work on that game, even after reading the instructions. I never even got far enough to find something to complain about. | NES: The 5 Worst Games | May 12, 2015 | ![]()
Article | Hoju Koolander | Fun list. The funny thing about Hogan is that although his heel turn with the NWO was a big deal at the time, he actually started out as a bad guy in his early career and his limited "Hulkster" moves still reflected that. The eye rake and back rake were pretty clear examples of this. | My Top 5 Fave Wrestlers of the 90's | May 24, 2015 | ![]()
Article | Hoju Koolander | These guys were so much more than basketball players, they were pop icons, that's what allowed me to relate to this list. I made comic with a friend in high school called "The Vengeance of Hakeem", where Hakeem's Dad was secretly murdering all the competition to elevate his son's status. I had never even seen the guy play, but adapting him to my twisted comic stylings at my buddy's suggestion made him immortal in my eyes. | My Top 5 Fave NBA Players of the 90's | May 27, 2015 | ![]()
Article | Hoju Koolander | @Vaporman87 Good to be back! Oh poor Prototype, aka "Imitation Iron Man", at least he wasn't as mixed up as "Mantra"...oh my. I totally had the Marvel Super Heroes Deathlok action figure with the lifting metal brain cover, even though I never picked up an issue of his book. I always got Union and Supreme mixed up for some reason. @comic_book_fan Sleepwalker definitely needed to be on this list. I feel like whenever I see piles of old comics at a thrift store there is bound to be 2 or 3 Sleepwalker #1's in there. | Five Forgotten Comic Heroes of the 90's | Jun 19, 2015 | ![]()
