337 | Video | Vaporman87 | Hideo Kojima was THE game guy to me around the time Metal Gear Solid 2 was on the horizon. Then I played Metal Gear Solid 2. While I really enjoyed parts of it, everything just got all crazy and over the top beginning with this game. I mean really, undead vampires? Girly sidekicks? Extremely confusing plot lines! Metal Gear Solid (especially the GameCube remake) is a masterpiece of gaming. But Hideo just lost touch with reality after that game. It strayed too far into territory that it didn't belong in. Just my humble opinion. | Feb 15, 2013
591 | Video | Vaporman87 | Hideo has always been a good storyteller. He just gets those stories a bit too convoluted and fantastical at times. | Snatcher - Sega CD Gameplay | Apr 26, 2013

915 | Article | MissM | Hey Vaporman! Yeah, it has been hard to really sit and watch a full movie this year, because things have been so hectic. But I know I will watch some of them. I think Batman Returns got into the rotation because I ended up purchasing it on DVD during the Christmas season, so I have connected it with the season, because I usually will watch it anytime of the year. I so love Frosty the Snowman. I used to cry when I was younger at his fate. I also love the Chipmunks Christmas and A Charlie Brown Christmas. I am very curious to see what the newly revamped Charlie Brown will be like in the next couple of years. Benjanime- Black Christmas is really good! The remade it s a few years ago and it was ok, but the original is just really good. It's like a slasher horror film, but it relies on more suspense than anything else. And yeah, there were a few scenes in the Gremlins movie that always rubbed me the wrong way or creeped me out as a kid. It's funny, because some of those things will still stick with me to this very day. | Dorkette Christmas Traditions | Dec 17, 2013
875 | Article | MissM | Hey Vaporman, I think one of the problems I have had with watching the parade is that I usually either sleep in or I'm up early to get things together. I am gonna try to watch it tomorrow, because it really does feel like the official kickoff of the holidays. I am glad you are able to visit with some family friends for the holiday with your family. That is nice. I am glad you have your family and friends to be with. I'm the kind of person that if someone does not have a place to be for Thanksgiving, I am forcing them to come with me. And I have to say, it is very nice to be sharing and reading these memories and traditions. I know what you mean, I have never met anyone that I have talked with and gotten to know, but I feel like I know them too. And now, with Retro-Daze, I feel like I am getting to know all new people. It is a very wonderful thing. Happy Thanksgiving Vaporman! Fulton4V- I hope you have a great Thanksgiving too! 20 or more people sounds like a very memorable Thanksgiving for sure! | Thanksgiving Is Here! | Nov 28, 2013
3228 | Article | fuschnikt | Hey Vapor..I was surprised just how many traditions, big and small, had gone for me as well. As I was writing this, so many forgotten things came flooding back. Even just the Christmas morning "procedure" so to speak. Waking up, Santa always left something in our room, my mom putting on Christmas music, waiting by the stockings for my dad to get his coffee (he took forever..might have been on purpose). It was really a walk down memory lane. | Christmas Memories: Traditions Come and Gone | Dec 17, 2015
3802 | Article | shakin steak | Hey NLogan, no kidding! I wonder what one of those $1.00 Marvel membership cards would go for on eBay now. A lot more than a buck, I bet! jkatz -- I'm sure they did that for legal reasons. As far as the new-old stock...probably long dispersed by now, if there even was much made and unsold in the first place. I don't guess there was a lot, but I could be wrong. | Halftone Wonders | Mar 26, 2017 |
