1038 | Article | MissM | pikachulover- I am so glad you collected these too! I found a loose ballerina that was from my earlier collection this past summer and it was so much fun to find it. I feel like originally I had a large set and a smaller set, because I know there was a random assortment of the rock ones, a gym one, and the ballerina. The sets from those pictures were found so cheap too! I love these. I also love that you brought one to art class for an assignment. How cool is that?! Vaporman- I agree. I think these were probably the most successful immovable tiny figures since the green army men. it was nice to see a line aimed at girls too, with so many different facets. Like you mentioned I think the blind bag craze and even those s.l.u.g. zombie things were brought on by a much needed return to items of that variety. | Revisiting C.U.T.I.E. | Mar 13, 2014
892 | Article | MissM | pikachulover- I totally forgot about the Berenstein Bears books! That is right though, McDonalds had a few Berenstein Bear themed Happy Meals. I remember there was a very big variety of Happy Meal toys back then. They'd make books, items to promote healthy eating and exercise habits, and the usual toys. Benjanime- yeah, I do feel like kids these days are only getting more and more tech savvy that things like a book will not work compared to other gadgets. Vaporman- I totally remember that Godzilla commercial! That darn dog. I do remember that. And I don't think Taco Bell offers toys anymore with kids meals. But I might be wrong. And I know, it is very sad when McDonalds gets a ton of news over placing books in a Happy Meal. Back in the day this was just a common thing. It's crazy. I feel like Happy Meal toys will probably phase out from most stores. As newer generations come up, I don't know that they are going to care about toys, not to mention I see parents buy their children actual value meals when they should be getting them the Happy Meal. It's crazy and sad. | Literary Classics at Taco Bell | Dec 07, 2013
990 | Article | MissM | pikachulover, I remember getting some Tiny Toons valentine cards. I loved them so much. I really miss Tiny Toons. That was such a great show. Now Marsupilami sounds interesting, I'm not really recalling it. Vaporman, yeah, these images are totally from Jim Lee's art in the comics. lol How did the search go for any Godzilla Valentine's Day cards? I'm sure they had to have had them. | For the Love of V-Day! Part 2 | Feb 08, 2014
1243 | Article | Hoju Koolander | pikachulover, too bad your Mom couldn't figure out the Gadget costume, that would have been pretty awesome. Cool that she put the custom Witch outfit together for you though. Vaporman87, from your question I'm assuming you were not in any plays growing up. Spirit Gum is old school glue used in the theater to attach fake beards, mustaches and prosthetics to your face with. It's like rubber cement for your face, so it sticks really well and you have to use rubbing alcohol or a dissolving solution to get it off. | A Little Witchy | Sep 15, 2014
1802 | Article | Hoju Koolander | Pillow Head sounds like a good premise for a horror movie. I had 2 reoccurring dreams during childhood: 1) I would get left behind somewhere by my family, but in this world I was a 4 year old Spider-Man. So I would stick to the bottom of a car (in costume) that would drive around the city until I found my family. 2) I was stuck in a maze with multiple doors, either Batman, The Joker or a family friend would pop out from a door, but when I went to open it they were gone and as I walked through I was back the start of the maze again. | My Top 5 Strangest Reoccurring Dreams | Jan 16, 2015
3719 | Article | DirtyD79 | Pizza Hut's always been one of my favorite restaurants to eat at. I remember back int he 80s One of the promotional things they had was a pitcher with the Pizza Hut logo on it that you could buy with your order. We ended up getting one and had it for several years. They were white with a red lid and had the pizza hut logo on the side. We'd use it for Kool-Aid and iced tea until one day it just got too grungy and wouldn't come clean anymore. | Pizza Hut Promotions | Feb 01, 2017
4517 | Article | Benjanime | pizza parties, pok'emon card trading, doodling and making friends were really the only things i miss from school. my high school years were the hardest to deal with. | Retrojunk Classic: Back to School In The 90's | Aug 14, 2018
1451 | Article | jkatz | pl, I don't know about anybody else, but I love costumes you throw together from whatever you have lying around the house. It's fun and you can get really creative and elaborate with it. I remember how one year I was pressed for time I so threw on a beret, tied a scarf around my neck, smeared my face with some makeup and went as "the snooty frenchman". Maybe that's a bad example but you get the idea. | Costume Redemption | Oct 18, 2014
2429 | Article | OldSchool80s | Played a lot of Pro Wrestling back in the early days. Remember Amazon would bite at your head and blood would spurt out. When you won a match you would get the "A WINNER IS YOU" screen. | Yesterdays: MY Favorite Nintendo Games Part 3 | Jul 30, 2015 |
