3196 | Article | mickyarber | @NLogan....I didn't include the picture because I couldn't find it, but I have a picture of me opening it while crying. In the picture, it doesn't look like they are tears of joy though. Almost like sadness or something. It's really weir thinking back on, because I just can't place what was going through my mind at that time. @Vaporman...when time travel get's invented, I'll pick you up and we'll head back for a week around Christmas and you can see how much fun we had then! | Dec 12, 2015
3197 | Article | mickyarber | I think this may be my favorite story I've read here on Retro-Daze. I read it while Away in a Manger was just playing in the background, it it came darn close to bringing a tear to my eye. That or it's from all the saw dust in my shop today. Just an excellent read. I think I'll be reading it to my daughters along with The Night Before Christmas this year. Thanks for sharing. | Christmas Yuleogy | Dec 12, 2015

3205 | Article | mickyarber | Very good read. I always like it to hear stories of when kids realize who the real "Santa" is, and especially stories where you can feel the heartfelt gratitude coming through for him just like in this story. Good job. | Operation Santa | Dec 13, 2015
3229 | Article | mickyarber | Yeah....this dude seemed to be out there a little bit. BUT, it has given me an idea of something to do with a box of old, random, assorted action figures. Maybe I'll do something like this next year. Build a pop culture Christmas party featuring Rambo, Mr. T, Hulk Hogan, Alf, He-Man, and the rest. Seems like that would have been a unique evening touring the place. Can't wait to see the rest. | Retro Christmas Wonderland Part 1 | Dec 19, 2015

3415 | Article | mickyarber | Back in '88 while going through NYC, my family got lost in Chinatown. That was kinda scary to a 10 year old. Really fun article. | China Town | Mar 04, 2016
3416 | Article | mickyarber | Welcome! Good effort on your first article. I too once had a place like that I could visit. It was called Buck Fever for some d*mn reason. It was in the early 90's, and that store was capitalizing on the hot markets for sports cards and comic books. I remember my older brother and his best friend taking me there the day Superman #75 came out and I was instantly hooked. We would go every other week when they got paid and drop some cash. At the time, we lived about a half hour away from that store. Now, I live just 5 minutes from there and pass it on the way to the kids school and back...and a lot of times driving by, I shudder when I look over and see an insurance office where the great Buck Fever used to be. | Blast to the Past! | Mar 05, 2016 |
