3257ArticleVaporman87I had always liked Raiders of the Lost Ark. Temple of Doom... not so much. I think it had to do with the lack of an actual relic of some significant real world interest being sought. Who wouldn't want to find the Ark of the Covenant? But some goofy stones? Meh. Then came The Last Crusade. Ah yeah. That's better. Gonna find us that Holy Grail for realz! (Did I just type that?) Anyhow, it was a fun ride, and was not far behind Batman as my favorite movie of that epic film year of '89. And, in keeping with the pattern, those morons decided to once again go after some artifact that has no real world following or significance. An alien skull? UFOs? This movie should never have happened. If I were making another sequel, there's no way I'm sending Indy after anything but Noah's Ark, or some other biblical artifact.  Jan 09, 2016View
2233ArticlemassrealityI had all of those Nerf balls. I'll never forget my disappointment in the Siren one. It whistled alright, just not like it did in the commercial. I have a developing interest in the old heroes like The Shadow, Green Hornet, Lone Ranger, and Zorro. A few months ago, I sat down and watched The Shadow and was impressed. I don't think it's held up well, but I think if I had seen in 1994 when I was eleven, I would have loved it. I've been reading The Shadow comics that Dynamite created a couple of years ago. Garth Ennis (Preacher/Punisher) was writing them, and they were actually pretty good. I loved the covers Alex Ross did for them. He made The Shadow pretty friggin amazing. It's just a shame its a character that is unloved and forgotten. I'd love to see Hollywood reboot it.Kenner Action Toy Guide '94Apr 29, 2015View
5345ArticleJulieI had a wealthy childhood during the 70s and 80s until my country started to be destroyed and my parents became more and more impoverished. My toys were mostly battery powered, many robots, the fashion toys that were advertised during the 80s TV ads. I had them all. The vast list of toys I had was very memorable and unforgettable. I just got rid of them because even if used with care and zeal, their engines started to stop working in the late 90s. It was very sad to see so many toys having to be sold. I had a wardrobe just for them due to the space they took in my room. Good times.Favorite childhood toys growing upNov 16, 2020View
3564ArticlemickyarberI had a very similar experience (without the divorce) when I got my Super Nintendo for Christmas one year. I begged for it for months, and on Christmas morning, I opened an SNES game first. My parents played it off, saying it was a mistake and it was for my brother. (He already had and SNES since he was working). But at the end of the morning, there was the SNES in the last package. I seem to recall having a very similar, if not the exact same, remote controlled fighter jet once upon a time too. But good read, and you really triggered some old memories for me.A Very Sega ChristmasDec 12, 2016View

3967ArticleOldSchool80sI had a similar experience and similar memories of seeing E.T. for the first time. It left quite an impression on me, too. It will always hold a special place for me and still holds up for me in a lot of ways, too. It is one of the iconic films of the decade and of my lifetime in my opinion.Seeing E.T. 2776ArticlemassrealityI had a Michelangelo and Batman costume like that. I agree with Vaporman, those masks were hot and very uncomfortable. I also remember how thin the vinyl was. I'm pretty sure I ripped one of my costumes before he end of the night.Halloween Night In The 80'sOct 05, 2015View

304ArticleVaporman87I had a few of the Iron Man line from Toy Biz in the mid 90's, though they were the 10" scale figures. I believe one was called "Steel Tech Iron Man" and the armor was a slightly different design than that which he wore at that time. I can't agree more with the idea that variants water down a line with poorly designed or executed products. It's discouraging at times. The 200X MOTU line suffered from this. Just google "Disco Skeletor" and you'll see what I mean. Ugh.The Curse of the VariantFeb 12, 2013View
