2230 | Article | echidna64 | Great read! As a kid I was really into the Jurassic Park and AVP toys. They don't make em like the used to! | Apr 27, 2015
2229 | Article | Mr Magic | Shaq had his own toy line, video game, and even his own burger. What didn't he have?! | Kenner Action Toy Guide '94 | Apr 27, 2015
2228 | Article | Vaporman87 | Okay... I'll admit that the Legends of Batman series is intriguing, but all they did with the Batman Animated Series in '94 was crank out 40,000 Batman variants and one bad guy. Good grief, if there was one thing I DESPISED about the 90's, it was the onset of the "variant"! Yes, we had our share of variants in the 80's, sure. Terror-Claws Skeletor??? But man, Kenner... and to an even greater extent, Playmates... just went OVERBOARD with the variants. Such a waste of plastic. Nice Shadow collection you have there. I enjoyed The Shadow, but never though much about it after my initial viewing. I liked Alec Baldwin at the time (less so as years passed and he became a liberal nutcase), and thought he performed the role adequately. That Shaq had his own line of figures is proof that companies would just make toys of anything popular by the mid-90's (even more so today). | Kenner Action Toy Guide '94 | Apr 27, 2015
2227 | Article | Vaporman87 | I loved Mannequin. Like you, I would watch it many times. I was fascinated by the idea of creating your own perfect woman (though I was not as fond of Weird Science for whatever reason). I had totally forgotten that James Spader played the bad guy here. He always did a bang up job as a bad guy/douche. It's fitting that he is playing Ultron in the Avengers 2. While I always thought Kristy Swanson (from Mannequin 2) was the more attractive female of the two, the first movie was far superior in every way. I think the second one kind of took the cheese factor to a whole new level that, even for the 80's, was just too much. | Mannequin - An Unappreciated Classic | Apr 27, 2015
2226 | Article | pikachulover | I couldn't have put it on the outside. The school was very strict about what you could wear. I would have been just a graduate in a sparkly strapped bra. | Treasured Clothing | Apr 22, 2015
2225 | Article | Hoju Koolander | Another vote for Doo-Wop-A-Saurus! The interstitial segments were definitely what gave Nick its identity, much like the different Saturday Morning Cartoon segments the different networks had. But Nickelodeon always had that extra, artistic edge to them. My go to is always the "Nick-Nick-Nick-Nick-Nick-Nick-Nick-Nickelodeoooooooon". | TDitH's Top 5 Nickelodeon Bumpers | Apr 19, 2015
2224 | Article | Hoju Koolander | @Vaporman87 I have a soft spot for promotional t-shirts as well, but the comment that interests me most is the Spuds McKenzie shirt. I have always found it fascinating how lenient adults were back in the day letting kids wear shirts for products they were not old enough to consume. Like Spuds or the Budweiser frogs. Most specifically I remember a girl in my weight training class in high school who wore a shirt crammed with cartoon characters in "Inappropriate" positions, but because they were drawings, no teacher ever noticed. It was crazy. @pikachulover At least you didn't put that on display for all to see outside your robe. That would have been B-A-N-A-N-A-S. | Treasured Clothing | Apr 19, 2015
2223 | Article | SegaFanatic | Great article, and I dunno man, that Doo-Wop-Asaurus always gives me goosebumps for some reason, and that strange emotion makes that one my favorite. Was still glad it was in the article at least! | TDitH's Top 5 Nickelodeon Bumpers | Apr 18, 2015
2222 | Article | massreality | Thanks Hojo. I'm glad you enjoyed it. And Vapor, man I feel ya on the real credit cards. Sheesh! | The Pepsi Gotta Have It Card | Apr 18, 2015
2221 | Article | pikachulover | I loved the part about the belt buckle. I too had my concealed fashion statement under my graduation robe. A bra with sequined straps. The only reason I wanted it was because it was like the bras with the decorated straps like Gwen Stefani wore. They sold those at the mall. The tank top came with a matching bra. I remember there was a girl at my junior high that had a shirt that said "Berlin" on it as in Germany not the band. I asked if she went to Germany, but she said she bought the shirt at the local swap meet, and she only bought it because it had Looney Tunes characters on the shirt. | Treasured Clothing | Apr 18, 2015 |
